Spring is in the air in San Diego as a host of new animal babies make their debut!  Come celebrate spring with these newborn critters at these world-renowned parks. The San Diego Zoo’s new additions include a pair of sun bear cubs, a Western lowland gorilla, an anteater, and koala joey.  The Wild Animal Park now proudly exhibits a newborn elephant calf, tiger cub, cheetah cub, and Indian rhinoceros calf.  SeaWorld recently created a splash with their new dolphin calf and 30 penguin chicks that have been born since November. Come see these adorable newborns before they grow up!

For even more springtime fun, experience the Wild Animal Park’s Butterfly Jungle running from April 4-26, 2009.  Wander through the Hidden Jungle where countless butterfly species will glide through the air and possibly stop for a rest on your shoulder, creating an unbeatable photo-op. This month long celebration also features daily butterfly releases, keeper talks, and even a “Butterfly Wrangler.”  During this time themed arts and crafts activities and shows will be held daily that center on these fluttery favorites. Plus, children can showcase butterfly wings, bug costumes, or their best “bug” hat as they parade through Nairobi Village.
