Southern California: A Baseball Lover's Paradise

Baseball season is in full swing, especially in Southern California.  With three Major League baseball teams, there is almost always a home game you can catch during regular season, which generally runs from the beginning of April through the end of September.  Here is a quick breakdown on where you can get your peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim make their home at Angel's stadium,  just a few blocks away from the Disneyland® Resort.  This gorgeous facility caters to families, has a beautiful water feature, and lights off fireworks each time the home team hits a home run.  A game here makes a perfect end to a fun-filled day at Disneyland®.  To be really close to the action you can stay at the Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange which hosts many of the visiting baseball teams.  Our 2 night packages at this deluxe hotel start at $609 and include 2 adult 3-Day Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Tickets.

Dodger's Stadium located in L.A. is only an hour's drive from the Disneyland® Resort and minutes away from Universal Studios Hollywood.  True fans of the game will want to hit both stadiums while in So Cal and if you plan it right, you definitely can.  Treat yourself to a world famous Dodger Dog at this classic stadium.  Here you'll find the perfect blend of baseball nostalgia and modern conveniences thanks to some recent updates.  It is the third oldest baseball park in the country and the oldest in the West.  If you're lucky, you'll get to experience the strobe lights that light up the park each time the Dodgers take the field, hit a home run and win a game.  If the Dodgers aren't in town while you're visiting, you may still be able to take in Dodgers stadium at a concert or other special event.  If you don't want to make a long drive after the game, Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn and the Sheraton Universal Hotel both offer convenient and comfortable accommodations.  Plus, our vacation packages at these hotels also include 2 adult tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood!

Located on prime real estate in downtown San Diego, the San Diego Padre's Petco Park offers state-of-the-art baseball facilities.  Since opening in 2004, this park has been a fan favorite.  It offers unbeatable views (dependent on where your seats are) of the San Diego city skyline, the San Diego Bay, and/or Balboa Park.  Plus, in true Southern California style, this ballpark was listed in the top 10 of ESPN's Best Ballpark Food for their shrimp tacos.  For a bird's eye view of the park stay at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, which is the park's direct next door neighbor.  Or, if you want to rub shoulders with out-of-town players, you may want to stay a block or so away at the Manchester Grand Hyatt which frequently hosts visiting teams.  Our San Diego vacation packages include 2 adult SeaWorld tickets, which make a perfect addition to your San Diego vacation.

Whether you're rooting for the Angels, Dodgers, Padres, or any other team in the MLB, you'll definitely want to make time for a game at these remarkable stadiums.  Hit a home run by booking your Southern California vacation with Get Away Today!
