Zip to the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park

If you didn't think the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park was wild enough before, it sure is now!  New this year to the park is Flightline, a 2/3 mile zip-line that takes you on an exhilarating flight directly over wild animal exhibits.

Daring guests will take part in an orientation session and training run before taking a safari ride to the summit where you'll spread your wings and take flight.  The actual zip-line run takes about a minute and a half, but the entire experience lasts between one and two hours, and the memory is one that will last a lifetime.  For safety, riders must be at least 10 years old, weigh between 75 and 250 pounds, and fit safely within the harness.  This extra experience costs $70 in addition to park admission.

For guests looking for a slightly tamer experience, there is plenty to see and do at the Wild Animal Park.  Our Best Value Tickets are discounted off the gate price and include admission to the park, the Journey Into Africa Tour, the Conservation Carousel, and all exhibits and shows, including the limited time Dino Mountain.  Dino Mountain is currently on exhibit through September 7, 2009, so unless you plan on traveling back in time to the Jurassic era, you'd better hurry and see these life-size animatronic dinosaurs before they disappear.  You'll come face to face with over a dozen prehistoric creatures in their territory from the safety of a shaded forest trail.

Plus, when you visit during the summer, you'll enjoy extended hours so you can experience all that there is at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park.  You won't want to miss the Journey Into Africa Tour where you'll spot giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, and more as they roam their natural habitat, all from the comfort of a tram.  You'll also want to make stops at the Heart of Africa exhibit where you'll see vultures, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, and even flamingos, Lion Camp, home to African lions, and Nairobi Village where meerkats, red river hogs and more play.  Mombasa Lagoon, Condor Ridge, and Lorikeet Landing also offer personal and unique encounters with wildlife.  Be sure to visit San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park during your San Diego vacation for a truly wild experience!
