Insider Disneyland Resort Tips

As someone who's been to the Disneyland® Resort almost too many times to count, Shannon, one of our reservation agents shares some of her best Disneyland® Resort tips:

Get a FASTPASS® right away: We always go to our favorite rides right when the park opens (ex. Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, or California Screamin'), get our first ride in there, then grab a FASTPASS®. That way you can ride one or two other rides before returning for a second ride on your favorite, plus you get two rides before the park gets crowded.

Fantasyland: The majority of Fantasyland rides get lines fast so, of course, use your early entry to see them before the park opens or head there during lunchtime. Most families will stop between 11:30am and 2:00pm for a lunch break. This frees up the lines at some of the rides (mainly Snow White's Scary Adventure, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and Pinocchio's Daring Journey). This trick doesn't always work during peak season times when the Park can be somewhat crowded all the time, so this is a better tip for non-peak times.

Hidden Mickeys: Part of the fun of your Disneyland® Resort vacation can be looking for "Hidden Mickeys" throughout the Parks.  Here are the location of two Hidden Mickeys to get you started on your search:
1. Check out the golf ball on Soarin' Over California
2. The Dining Room table in the Haunted Mansion (only when it's in the original ghost form, not the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay)

Cafe Orleans is probably the best tip I have: The Cafe Orleans is located across the street from the Blue Bayou and near the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a small restaurant so if you're not looking, you can miss it. It's a great spot because they serve some of the most popular dishes from the Blue Bayou like the Monte Cristo, French Onion Soup, and Beignets. It is much easier to get seated at the Cafe Orleans than it is at the Blue Bayou. They take reservations (via Disney Dining) but they can also accommodate walk-ups. I would still recommend reservations however; it makes for a faster seating. Since this is a Casual Dining location it is also less expensive than its partner. The average price per person is $10-20 compared to $20-30.
