We don't know of anyone who can resist saying "awwwww" over a baby panda!  Check out the San Diego Zoo's most recent press release and photo update of their baby giant panda below:

SAN DIEGO ZOO'S PANDA CUB SHOWS OFF STRENGTH

The San Diego Zoo's 13-week-old giant panda cub showed off his strength Thursday during his weekly exam by pushing up on his front legs and struggling against the veterinarian who was checking his limbs.

The cub weighed 11.7 pounds, over a pound more than last week, and measured 24.8 inches from head to tail. He will soon have teeth breaking through his gums.

His name, which was voted on by thousands of people, will be announced during a ceremony on Nov. 17 at 11 a.m.

The male cub is the fifth giant panda born at the San Diego Zoo. The first surviving giant panda born in the United States was born in San Diego in 1999, followed by cubs in 2003, 2005, 2007, and most recently this cub, born on Aug. 5, 2009.
