World of Color has been receiving rave reviews since its opening last month. When Get Away Today was there for the premiere, we received a special program about World of Color and it was pretty cool. We scanned the program and posted pictures in an album on our
Get Away Today facebook page.
Some of the information was so much fun we thought we'd repeat it here on our blog. Here are all of the "numbers" that create World of Color from smallest to largest:
- 5 Months to program the show
- 6 Technical Directors to run the show
- 6 Dome projection screens
- 8 Decades of score spans are represented in Disney song and music
- 15 Months to transform Paradise Bay
- 26 Minutes is the length of the show
- 28 HD projectors (14 are submersible)
- 36 Fire cannons are used in the show (12 are on swivels)
- 50 Animators from Disney and Pixar created elements of World of Color
- 100 + Musicians performed the soundtrack
- 200 Feet is the height of the highest water fountain at full blast--that's 50 feet taller than Mickey's Fun Wheel
- 380 Feet is the width of the largest projected water screen (by 50 feet high for a total of 19,000 square feet!)
- 1,200 Programmable water fountains
- 79,241 Musical notes are in World of Color
- 100,000 + Images are features
