When I think of Egypt, I think of sandy deserts, camels, pyramids and the Sphinx. But the storytellers and Imagineers at Disney saw so much more. They saw colorful stories and folklore, deeply rooted in history. They saw an opportunity to enchant and delight children and adults alike with traditional tales and new adventures that only Disney can create, which is why they've added brand new 2011 Adventures by Disney itineraries to Egypt!
On your 7 or 9 night, Egypt Adventures by Disney you will not just visit Egypt, you will delve

into its mysteries with exclusive experiences including your group's own private Egyptologist to animate and narrate your tours through Cairo and the Nile Valley, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride a camel as you tour the Great Pyramids, a Felucca ride down the Nile, and so much more!
Check out this itinerary of just your first three days, for a sample of the excitement that awaits:
Day 1: You will find yourself landing in the Cairo Airport and once through customs, you will be greeted by an Adventures by Disney representative who will help you through the process of obtaining your entry visa, gathering your luggage, and getting to your shuttle. You can sit back and relax while they take care of the details for you.
You can relax while your shuttle takes you to the Sofitel El Gezirah Hotel in Cairo. In this luxury hotel which is situated on the banks of the Nile river, the French-Contemporary style will surround you in elegance and comfort. Dinner tonight will give you the opportunity to explore the hotel and your Disney Adventure Guide can make suggestions as to where to eat and what to do at this beautiful property. You will be immersed in the opulence of this hotel for the next 3 nights until you find yourself flown to Aswan and boarding the M/S Tulip for a 3-day cruise aboard this unique “floating hotel.”

Then you will begin your adventures with your first stop of the day, a private tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which was established in 1902 and houses some of the world most ancient and important artifacts. Your groups private Egyptologist will guide you through the museum giving you an in-depth look that most visitors to the museum do not get to experience.
After taking in the breathtaking views of Cairo from the historic Al Azhar Park, today's lunch will be had in the Citadel View Restaurant where you can enjoy Middle Eastern Cuisine such as babaganoush and hummus, fresh pita breads and grilled meats. Afterward, you can spend a relaxing evening taking in the many amenities of your luxurious hotel or join your Adventure Guides on a tour of the huge medieval Saladin Citadel.
Your evening will begin with a 3-course “welcome dinner” where you can mingle, make friends with your fellow adventurers and share tales of your day. Once dinner is done, sit back, relax and get ready to be enchanted by the strains of authentic Arabic music, played by local musicians.
Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel will be followed by a 1-hour scenic ride into Giza where your Egyptologist will take you on an adventure through the Pharaoh's Boat Museum where you will see the “sun boat” crafted for King Khufu. Scientists debate to this day the history of this boat. Some say it's been afloat, others say it was purely ceremonial and has never seen a drop of water. You'll get the opportunity to decide for yourself.
