Last week our contact with the Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean came to our office to update our Sandals Specialists on everything that is going on at their gorgeous all-inclusive Caribbean resorts.
The Sandals Resorts include a number of adults only resorts made for
"Couples in Love" and the Beaches Resorts by Sandals for families of all ages and sizes. Both Sandals and
Beaches Resorts are known for incredible accommodations located in the most desired beach vacation destinations in the world. Right now there are a few things to be aware of.
First, both Beaches Boscobel and Beaches Sandy Bay (both located in Jamaica) are closed for some major renovations. Beaches Sandy Bay is closed through September and some of October. It will be open the month of November and re-open on December 19, 2010, just in time for the Christmas break. Beaches Boscobel is closed now through December 19, 2010 when it too will be open just in time for the Christmas season. If you are scheduled at either resort during closed periods, you will be relocated to Beaches Negril located on Negril's famous 7 mile beach.
Also exciting for the
Beaches Resorts is that there's a new character in town--Big Bird joins
his other Sesame Street pals at Beaches this fall. Special stage shows, Story Time with Elmo, Bake with Cookie Monster, Explore with Grover and many other exciting activities entertain young tykes for hours. Exclusive character dining experiences with the Sesame Street crew can be added to your Beaches vacation package for a nominal cost. Beaches Resorts don't just cater to the tiny tots. Tweens and Teens also get their own hang out areas including beach bonfire parties, teen only night clubs, and so much more.
The Beaches Resorts aren't the only resorts getting attention, Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is currently going through a $25 million renovation. So far all of the Riveria side rooms have been completely renovated. New guest areas and restaurants will also be added to the
sprawling resort. Also, the Royal Plantation, the exclusive boutique hotel adjacent to Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is now Sandals Royal Plantation. This change brings Sandals service and amenities to the previously 18 & older resort with European Plan options. Sandals Royal Plantation is now for couples only and offers the Sandals Luxury Included program that all Sandals Resorts offer. Sandals Royal Plantation continues to offer the same attention to detail and quality and offers butler-suite options.
That's what's going on at the Sandals and Beaches Resorts right now, but there is much more to look forward to in the next couple of years. Sandals Grande St. Lucian will begin building 26 over water bungalows. These butler service suites will feature glass floors, outdoor showers, hammocks, and many other amenities to ensure a relaxing and rejuvenating escape. The over water bungalows will open in 2012. Also, land has been purchased in St. Lucia for a new Beaches Resort to be built and join the three Sandals Resorts currently on St. Lucia. The Beaches Resort is expected to be built within the next 2-3 years.
Sandals Whitehouse which has long been the only resort on a 500 acre wilderness preserve in southern Jamaica will have two new neighbors... Sandals Whitehouse will be getting a golf course for their guests to enjoy. Work on the golf course will begin this December and it is expected to be complete within the next 1-2 years. A Beaches Resort will also be built next to Sandals Whitehouse, giving families the opportunity to enjoy the laid back luxury that couples have enjoyed at Sandals Whitehouse. The Beaches Resort is expected to open within 2-3 years.
