1st Day: Lima
Adventures by Disney ® officials will greet you after you arrive at the Lima International Airport and leave customs. All of your luggage and transportation will be taken care of and you can rest as your family is whisked away to the Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel. Located in the coastal town of Miraflores, this 17th century luxury hotel is nestled around diverse shops and restaurants. If time allows, be sure to check out the town or stay and relax at the hotel.
2nd Day:
Your day begins with a 1 hour flight to the city of Cusco. Your first adventure is a visit to the Sacred Valley. Next, board a motor coach to the Center for Traditional Textiles. Opened in 1996, this cultural heritage building offers a hands on experience learning Inca weaving that's been passed on for 2,000 years. Each village has its own unique pattern and purchases of these fine textiles support local families. Afterward, enjoy a tasty traditional Peruvian lunch.
Located in the center of Sacred Valley, the Sol y Luna luxury hotel will entice you with its simple beauty and colorful flowers. Every guest has their own private adobe bungalow. This peaceful hotel offers an assortment of outdoor activities. For those energetic folks, check with the hotel for biking, horseback riding, and paragliding. Or, enjoy a chocolate body wrap in the spa.
Later that evening, unwind from your busy day and enjoy a traditional Andean fest called Pachamanca and watch dancers as they recreate the stories of the Incas.
3rd Day: Ollantaytambo
Today your adventure begins with a rafting trip down the Urubamba River. The upper portion of this river flows from the drainage system of the Amazon River. This scenic waterway passes along heavily populated settlements and a maze of irrigation systems.
Once you arrive at Casa Huacatay you can unwind and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then discover the the 15th century historic plaza and cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo. Surrounded on three sides by a river, this Inca archaeological site lies at the base of a steep climb to the Inca ceremonial center of Cerro Bandolista. Enjoy the incredible vistas of terraced steps cut deep into the mountainside. After climbing up historic steps that leads to Inca ruins high on the hill, catch your breath and enjoy the panoramic views from 9,160 ft. above sea level.
This is a moderately physical trip. Travelers will be expected to climb rough stairs and cobblestone streets, follow trails through Inca ruins, hang on for mild and medium river rafting rapids, and be physically able to handle high altitudes starting from 8,000 to 11,000 feet above sea level. Although this is a fun and exciting trip, it can be difficult for guests with health problems. Please prepare in advance by consulting with your physician before booking this journey to ensure a happy and uneventful trip. (Minimum age: 4. Recommended age: 8+)
