Our contact Brett, from the Disneyland ® Resort spent all day yesterday with our staff to let us know the latest and greatest currently going on and coming to the Disneyland ® Resort.  When you see how much there is going on, you'll see why he had to stay all day!  There really is something going on at every area of the Disneyland ® Resort including the Downtown Disney District, Disneyland ® Park, Disney California Adventure ™ Park, and all three Hotels of the Disneyland ® Resort - Disney's Paradise Pier ® Hotel, the Disneyland ® Hotel, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel ® & Spa!

First of all, the Downtown Disney District will welcome two new stores.  Sanuk and Blink will open their doors this summer.  Sanuk offers fun and "funk"tional sandals and other casual footwear.  The Downtown Disney store will offer the largest selection of Sanuk garb outside of their online store.  Blink is a denim focused store that offers all of the latest trends in denim clothing and accessories.  Both stores are sure to offer the unique shopping experiences Disneyland ® Resort guests have come to expect from the entertainment district.

All three Hotels of the Disneyland ® Resort recently underwent a "soft goods" makeover.  This means all three Disney hotels now are furnished with duvet covers and blankets in all guest rooms.  In addition to these updates Disney's Grand Californian Hotel ® & Spa recently added a new wing with an extra 250 guest rooms.  The Disneyland ® Hotel is currently undergoing a complete renovation with nearly 2/3 of its rooms completed.  The new guest rooms are beautifully decorated and include magical bed boards that feature working Disneyland ® fireworks!  This spring/summer the new monorail themed pool with water slides will open at the Disneyland ® Hotel along with the Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's restaurants/lounges.

Disneyland ® Park will be debuting Mickey's Soundsational Parade on May 27, 2011.  An explosive musical score, thrilling rhythms and bold percussion that will have people dancing to many of their favorite Disney tunes. Look for whimsical float units, live musicians and some of your favorite characters. Mickey Mouse and his pals will be jamming like never before and creating an atmosphere that will be…soundsational!

Then on June 3, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue officially launches in Tomorrowland at Disneyland ® Park, taking guests on interstellar adventures to Coruscant, Tatooine, and other destinations in the “Star Wars” galaxy. With the return of favorite Star Wars characters and the addition of more familiar faces and destinations, guests are going to experience Starspeeder travel in an all-new way…in 3D!  There are rumors that there will be up to 52 different possible experiences, so you'll have a whole new experience with each ride!

June 3 is also a big day at Disney California Adventure ™ Park which will present an all-new voyage with one of Disney’s most beloved characters, Ariel. The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will invite guests to take a journey under the sea to experience all the fun and adventures in Ariel’s world. From the great songs to state-of-the-art animatronics and special effects, guests will become a part of her world in a way that’s never happened before.  The Little Mermaid attraction is the next big milestone in the expansion of Disney California Adventure ™ Park. “World of Color” debuted last year and continues to wow guests every night with magic that combines choreographed fountains, lights, lasers, music, animation and Disney storytelling.

Goofy's Sky School will also be accepting new flight students this summer with its opening.  This roller coaster is themed after the classic Disney cartoon which features Goofy as a well, pretty goofy flight instructor.

In the meantime, guests can enjoy ElecTRONica taking over the Hollywood Studios Backlot area of Disney California Adventure ™ Park each weekend evening and nightly during the summer months now through Labor Day.  ElecTRONica submerses guests in the world of TRON Legacy through lights, lasers, music, entertainment, and more.

Guests who ride California Screamin' or Mickey's Fun Wheel can catch a glimpse of the Cadillac Mountain range taking shape as the backdrop to Cars Land, which opens in 2012.  This 12-acre expansion will feature three new attractions - Radiator Spring Racers, Luigi's Flying Tires, and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree that are sure to get your engine revving!

With SO incredibly much going on at the Disneyland ® Resort, you really shouldn't miss out on any of the fun!  Book your Disneyland ® Resort vacation now!
