“A great getaway for our family was spent in San Diego for the Fourth of July! Our family of five spent 5 days at the
Sheraton Hotel and Marina on Harbor Island....what a view for the Big Bay Boom fireworks! We sat out on the grass for the fireworks and could see all of the synchronized fireworks from our hotel (in fact, we were so close, you could FEEL them!). Then, we sat on our balcony that overlooked the marina on the other side of the hotel to watch the fireworks from Sea World! What an Independence Day!
And, thanks to the savings from Getawaytoday.com, we were able to spend our extra money going to
Sea World and the
San Diego Zoo. Sea World was a blast! We loved the rides, the incredible shows, and the beautiful animals. Our 2-year-old liked feeding the sea lions. Our 5-year-old loved seeing the beluga whales. And our 8-year-old loved riding Atlantis.....a little something for everyone!
The San Diego Zoo is the best zoo we have ever been to. What a beautiful zoo. A huge zoo, so we did a lot of walking. But it was worth it!
The rest of the trip was not wasted....we enjoyed a picnic at the beach, went to the free Sunday organ concert at Spreckles Organ Pavillion in Balboa Park, ate HUGE ice cream sundaes at Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shop in downtown, and tried out several dives to eat at (most of which were hole-in-the-wall-joints with tons of personality and the best food you have ever eaten!).
There is so much to do in San Diego! We will definitely go back again and we wouldn't think of not using Getawaytoday.com! You guys are amazing!
