Hiking
The island of Kauai is a hiker’s paradise with more hiking trails than any other island in Hawaii. Take a short hike to a beach, a half day hike through the rainforest or a full day hike to one of the many breathtaking waterfalls Kauai is famous for.
Waimea Canyon
Called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” Waimea Canyon spans over 10 miles and is 3,000 feet deep. Experience one of the many hiking trails, scenic lookouts, or simply admire the beautiful red rock surrounding the entire area.
Kilauea Lighthouse
This historic lighthouse is one of Kauai’s most visited sights on the island with more than 500,000 visitors each year. Built in 1913, it served as a guide to ships coming from the Orient. Tour the enormous light tower and take in amazing views of Kauai’s dramatic coastline.
The Fern Grotto
Accessible only from the Waialua River, this natural lava rock grotto covered with tropical ferns is not to be missed. A short boat ride up the only navigational river in Hawaii, leads you to the breathtaking Fern Grotto where you will be serenaded by local musicians playing traditional Hawaiian songs.
