When it comes to deciding on where to stay for your Disneyland vacation, there is a lot to consider. Our Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim review will hopefully answer all of your questions about what there is to do at the resort, what the rooms are like, and how far it is from the Happiest Place on Earth. Our staff has stayed at the resort and can't wait to share our experiences with you.

Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Review

There are so many factors that are going into our review for this unique hotel in Anaheim. Before we get into too many of the details, we want to answer a couple of questions.

First, who is the Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim a good fit for? There's no question that the Great Wolf Lodge is perfect for families with elementary aged children. However, with that said, the water park is a hit with teenagers and adults who are kids at heart. There is always something going on at the Great Wolf Lodge, so if you love non-stop fun, this is an excellent choice.

Second, who is the Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim NOT a good fit for? Because there is so much to do at the Great Wolf Lodge, I don't recommend this hotel for anyone who has limited time, or is planning on spending ALL of their time only at Disneyland. There is just too much to enjoy that you'll miss out on many of the perks of the Great Wolf Lodge. Make sure you allow at least one full day to take advantage of the amenities offered here. Or, spread out the fun over an extended stay.

If you're thinking of staying here during a Disneyland vacation, you may want to consider adding on a night or two at the Great Wolf Lodge to the beginning or end of a stay at another hotel. This can help save on cost, and most of all, make sure you have the dedicated time to enjoy all that the Great Wolf Lodge has to offer.

Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Review - Rooms:

The rooms at the Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim are all spacious suites and equipped with everything you could possibly need on vacation. The standard suites are studio suites with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa bed that comfortably sleep up to six guests. The rooms are well kept and have a woodsy feel. The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge.

Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Review - Amenities:

There are nearly too many amenities at the Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim to count, but we're going to try. To keep things clear, we'll break it down into included amenities and amenities that come with an additional charge.

Included Great Wolf Lodge Amenities

Water Park - The most popular of all of the amenities at the Great Wolf Lodge is without a doubt its water park. The park is indoor, which means it's open year-round, rain or shine. There is also a large outdoor pool as well so you can get some sun. There are water slides for big and little kids, a lazy river and more. You'll want to spend hours here. Cabanas are available for an additional charge, based on availability.

Each room includes up to four water park tickets for no additional charge. If you have one or more people ages three or older staying in your room, there is an additional $50 per person charge for each day you are staying. This charge is required and must be paid at the hotel front desk.

Entertainment - The Great Wolf Lodge offers entertainment and character interactions throughout the day. There's a special morning adventure, lunch time events like face painting, morning and afternoon shows, nighttime parties and more. Crafts, story time and more are all included with your stay. Most of these activities are geared towards toddlers and school aged children.

Additional Great Wolf Lodge Amenities

The Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim has so much to do! In addition to the water park and all of the included activities, there are so many things that you can purchase to enhance your vacation. You can find all of the below activities for an additional fee:

  • Bowling
  • Mini Golf

  • Spa services (for kids and adults)
  • X-D Theater
  • Creation Station (like Build-a-Bear)

Other Great Wolf Lodge Amenities

One thing that is of note is that the Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim charges a resort fee of $29.99 per day. The fee covers wireless internet, fitness center access, in-room coffee, life jackets and towels to use in the water park and two bottles of water. It also includes access to fax, local phone calls, concierge service and wolf ears for kids 12 and under.

Additionally, the Great Wolf Lodge offers self parking on-site. It is typically $18 per night, but when you book with Get Away Today, your parking fee is only $5 per night. That's a $13 per night savings, which can really add up!

Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Review - Dining:

The dining options at the Great Wolf Lodge are almost as numerous as the entertainment options. There are seven restaurant locations from quick service to fine dining options and everything in between. They even have a Character breakfast! Here is a quick list of the dining options:

  • Lodge Wood Fired Grill (steaks, seafood, ribs)
  • Hungry as a Wolf (pizza, pasta, etc.)
  • Buckets Incredible Craveables (hot dogs, snack foods)
  • The Loose Moose Family Kitchen (buffet)
  • Dunkin' Donuts (open almost all day)
  • Grizzly Jack's Bar and Grill (outdoor, seasonal)
  • Bear Paw Sweets & Eats (coffee and desserts)

In addition to having variety, the food at the Great Wolf Lodge has an emphasis on quality. Their chef is an International Culinary Institute graduate and spent the majority of his career at The Four Seasons in Newport Beach. He has strict standards, and is incredibly mindful of any dietary needs and/or restrictions.

Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Review - Location:

The Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim is located about two miles to the main entrance to the Disneyland Resort. There is currently no shuttte service available from the hotel, but it's an easy drive to the main parking garage of Disney. It's also just down the street from a Target, and just over a mile to The Outlets at Orange. The Outlets at Orange is a spacious outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment district. So while it's a little farther away, it can still be considered one of our favorite hotels near Disneyland and other attractions.

I hope our Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim review was helpful! We think it's an amazing hotel and one that is well worth your vacation time.
