We've put together our favorite 11 rides for adults at Walt Disney World. You may be surprised which rides made the list, and which ones didn't!

Adults-only trips to Walt Disney World Resort are gaining in popularity and for good reason. There is so much to do in all four theme parks, over 20 resort hotels and Disney Springs for shopping and entertainment.

Then add in unique festivals throughout the year like EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, fine dining options and immersive attractions, you'll find it all at Walt Disney World. There really is so much to discover and we’re kicking it off with one popular aspect of an adult only Disney World vacation—the rides.

1. Avatar Flight of Passage: Our first ride to make the list and that should be no surprise! Flight of Passage is located in Pandora, the newest land at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.

This Avatar themed attraction is one of the most incredible and immersive rides we've ever been on in any theme park. Individual Lightning Lane selections for Flight of Passage go quickly, so you'll want to make that a priority when planning your visit to Animal Kingdom. If this ride tops your list, consider booking a stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to be close to the action!

2. Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. In our humble opinion, this is one of the most fun roller coasters in all of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. It is so well themed and really is a thrill with some legitimately scary moments. This attraction is extra fun for adults vacationing at Walt Disney World.

3. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park.

4. Toy Story Mania! located in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

These interactive and competitive attractions make up numbers three and four on our list of rides for adults at Walt Disney World. Because let's face it, it's way more fun to beat your friends at a game than it is to beat a little kid! Both of these rides allow you to earn points, and it is really fun to have bragging rights for top score.

We suggest visiting Walt Disney World over multiple days so you can ride both for an epic rematch and securing your winner status.

5. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance located in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a massive attraction with multiple ride systems that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at Walt Disney World Resort… or anywhere else in the galaxy! Remember to read up on Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane for the easiest way to ride this super popular attraction.

6. Star Tours - The Adventures Continue located in Echo Lake at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

We love the longevity of Star Wars and their rides at Disney Parks. At one time Star Tours was the only Star Wars themed ride at Walt Disney World! Even though we now have a full land dedicated to Star Wars, this classic deserves a place in this list.

There are so many different versions of Star Tours—you never know which one you're going to get. You could come face-to-face with Kylo Ren, Darth Vader or Boba Fett. Your journey could take you to one of a handful of planets from the Star Wars saga.

As an added bonus, it is located right outside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge making it the perfect welcome to a galaxy far, far away.

We’ve already mentioned two attractions in Hollywood Studios in the Star Wars category, so let’s stick around a bit and find out why this is the top spot for adults to hang out during an adults only Walt Disney World vacation.

7. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror located on Sunset Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The U.S. version of this classic attraction can only be found at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is spooky and thrilling; two of our favorite combinations! While it may be too frightening for small kids, this attraction is perfect for an adults only trip. Adults who remember watching The Twilight Zone will especially enjoy "dropping" in to ride.

8. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith located in Sunset Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

There is only one place on the planet where you'll find this ride, and that's Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's a perfect attraction for adults at Walt Disney World because it is fast, dark, surprising—and features awesome music that most adults will appreciate. There's no teeny bopper music here!

9. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind located in World Discovery at EPCOT.

This ride has blown us away! It is one of the most popular rides at Walt Disney World and for good reason. Read about how to ride it here

10. Test Track located in World Discovery at EPCOT.

Another Walt Disney World original makes our list of favorite rides for adults. Test Track is fun because you create your own virtual vehicle that you get to take it for a spin via a simulation car on the Test Track. The track itself is approximately a mile long, and you can reach speeds of up to 65 mph. It is a ton of fun for adults, and even more fun if you have a car fanatic in your group.

11. Space Mountain located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park.

12. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park in late 2024.

13. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park

No list of favorite attractions would be complete without the mountains of Walt Disney World. All three of these fan favorites can be found at the Magic Kingdom, which as you can tell, isn't just for kids.

Space Mountain makes the list because it speeds you through a dark galaxy. And Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is just about as classic of a Disney roller coaster as you can find. All three are incredibly popular and worth spending a full day at Magic Kingdom Park.

Bonus! 14. TRON Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park.

Anticipation is everything, but now you don’t have to wait. What was once only at Shanghai Disneyland is now at Walt Disney World.
