Soarin' Around the World: A Scene by Scene Guide
March 31, 2023

UPDATED MARCH 2023. Soarin' Around the World is one of the most popular attractions at Disney California Adventure Park and EPCOT at Walt Disney World—and for good reason. Whether you want to soar over the world at Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida, we have just the right vacation packages for you.

If you want to relive each moment or maybe you haven't had the chance to ride it yet, we're giving you a scene by scene guide of what to expect.

We want to make it very clear, this article is full of Soarin’ Around the World SPOILERS. If you want to ride Soarin' Around the World and have it be a complete surprise, don't read this article.

If you just love everything Disney and want to know as much about the attraction as possible, we think you'll enjoy it. Also, as an FYI, this is definitely a spoiler for the attraction, but be aware that the screens before you get on the attraction will show you where you'll be traveling on your trip around the world.

Soarin’ Around the World: Matterhorn

The Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps is your first stop on Soarin' Around the World. It seems especially fitting since you can ride the Matterhorn over at Disneyland Park if you’re vacationing in California.

And good news—both Soarin’ Around the World and Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland Resort offer Disney Genie+ to skip most of the wait time for these two popular attractions.

Soarin’ Around the World is also available as a Disney Genie+ selection at Walt Disney World Resort.

Soarin' Around the World: Greenland

Next, you'll visit the ice fjords in Greenland in a way you'd never expect to see them in real life. It is incredible!

Soarin' Around the World: Sydney Harbor

Your next stop in Soarin' Around the World is Sydney Harbor in Australia. We looked for P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, and other Nemo friends but didn’t spot them.

If you have Park Hopper tickets you can find Dory, Nemo and all their friends over on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland Park. If you’re visiting Disney World, The Seas with Nemo & Friends is nearby in EPCOT.

Soarin' Around the World: Germany Neuschwanstein Castle

Next, you'll get an incredible aerial view of Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria Germany, the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland. It is stunning. Be sure to note the comparisons when you stroll over to Disneyland Park and see Sleeping Beauty Castle in person.

Soarin' Around the World: Mt. Kilimanjaro

Then, you'll soar over a herd of elephants at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I don't want to give away all of the spoilers, but this is one of the best smells you'll experience on the ride.

You can also see elephants in real life when you vacation at Walt Disney World Resort! The Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park takes you on an open-air vehicle for a guided tour of a lush African savanna—and spot real animals roaming free. We just can’t guarantee the smell will match the one at Soarin’ Around the World.

Soarin' Around the World: Great Wall of China

You'll then make the trip to the Great Wall of China for a completely incredible perspective of one of the world's most recognizable landmarks.

Soarin' Around the World: Great Pyramids of Giza

After that, you'll explore one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Soarin' Around the World: Taj Mahal

Next, you'll swoop over the Taj Mahal in India where you'll also enjoy the lovely scent of flowers.

Soarin' Around the World: Monument Valley

Your next stop on Soarin' Around the World takes you to Monument Valley in Utah. Watch for a Hidden Mickey!

Soarin' Around the World: Fiji Islands

You'll then enjoy breathtaking views of the Fiji Islands as you breathe in fresh ocean air. If this spot is calling to you on Soarin’, Get Away Today can even help take you to a tropical paradise via a Disney Cruise. You can check out all our Disney Cruise Line options here.

Soarin' Around the World: Iguazu Falls Brazil

Then, you'll get a bird's eye view of Iguazu Falls, which looks a lot like Paradise Falls from Up! It’s one of the largest waterfalls in the world located where Argentina and Brazil meet. You can almost feel the spray from the falls as you glide by.

Soarin' Around the World: Eiffel Tower Paris

You'll know you're getting close to the end of your journey when you visit The Eiffel Tower in Paris at night. Just as you'd imagine, it is spectacular. If a sample of Paris isn’t quite enough, our team at Get Away Today can help you book a Disneyland Paris vacation, too!

Soarin' Around the World: Disney Parks

Your final stop on Soarin' Around the World is Disneyland. Or EPCOT. Or Shanghai... all depending on where you ride it. The ending sequence of Soarin' Around the World at Disney California Adventure Park is similar to Soarin' Over California, but you'll notice that Disneyland is no longer holiday themed. There's nothing quite like ending a journey around the world at Disney Parks... and realizing that you're actually there!

We hope you love Soarin' Around the World as much as we do. We'd love to help you plan your next trip, whether it brings you around the world, or to Disneyland! All of our packages can be found online, as can many of our other 1,900+ destinations worldwide.

Our agents can be reached at 855-GET-AWAY and visit our most popular destinations on a regular basis. They are happy and ready to give you their personal recommendations and expertise for your vacation.

The New Swanstone Caslte is the same one as shown from the air in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I just noticed it tonight when I was watching it again.

Just finished the ride and this was so helpful to appreciate what we saw! Didn’t recognize many during the ride. The comment on hidden mickey makes me want to do the ride again ;)
