The hotel is a nice place reminiscent of many smaller "chains" up and down California. The staff was outstanding, from the shuttle drivers, to the front desk and housekeeping staff. We had breakfast at the Bistro restaurant one day and the meal was delicious, though give yourself some time. If rushed, there is a diner and a small french place (crepes, pastries) nearby, both of which are also quite good. We ate 3 of 4 dinners nearby as well, Mexican, Asian and Microbrewery pub fare. It was possible to go without a car (unheard of in SoCal not so long ago). TAP transit passes were able to be purchased (cash only) at the nearby Buena Vista branch library and the Burbank bus runs frequently during morning and evening commuting hours. Mid day and late night, the LA Metro busses only run every hour, so it requires more planning. Regardless of line, the bus runs back and forth from the Universal Studios Subway stop to downtown Burbank. The modest workout room in the sister motel style property (where the pool is located as well) was completely stocked with free weights and many machines, making for limited floor space. Loud neighbors in the hotel, with sound coming through the adjoining door despite the staff saying they'd put cushioning in between the doors to help muffle noise, was the only thing keeping the hotel from the very top rating. We'd seen other reviews noting this and brought ear plugs.

Great location, close to universal studios. Really nice hotel inside. Free parking, great customer service.

Good hotel if you're going to Universal. We used their shuttle to the park and then used uber to come back. Easy and fun hotel.

Went on a quick weekend getaway with my girls to Universal and shopping. It was convenient staying here and not to far from the Burbank airport. We found the cheapest flights there and it was fun to be in LA for a girls trip.
