Desert Palms Hotel Review - Rooms:

There are few Anaheim area hotels that have as much variety when it comes to room types as the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites. While each room type's layout and bedding configuration is quite different from the next, all of the guestrooms share some amenities. No matter which room type you select at the Desert Palms, your room with come with all of the basic amenities you'd expect, plus a microwave and refrigerator. Those are two musts in my book for traveling with kids. The rooms are also clean and comfortable with a crisp, updated look. Here is what you can expect in each of the room types:

Deluxe Standard - This rooms type is what you envision when you book a traditional hotel room with two queen beds.

One Bedroom Suite with Bunk Bed - This suite is perfect for families with up to four kids and two adults. The room features a bedroom with one king bed and another separate sleeping area that has a double bunk bed. The double bunk bed sleeps up to four kids.

One Bedroom Suite with Full Kitchen - This room is especially great for families who are planning a longer length of stay, or enjoy cooking during their vacation. The room features a bedroom with two queen beds and sofa bed located in a separate living room. In addition to a spacious living room, this room type also features a full kitchen. The kitchen includes a full size fridge, a microwave, stop top, dishwasher, and all of the dishes and utensils you could ever need.

Deluxe Studio Suite - The final room type includes two queen beds in the bedroom, and a sunken living room area with a sofa bed. The rooms itself is very spacious, but it's important to note that the living room is not separated by a door. If you're looking for privacy, consider one of the one bedroom types.

Desert Palms Hotel Review - Amenities:

There is no shortage of amenities at the Desert Palms. You can expect to find free Wi-Fi, free parking (one car per room), a fitness center, and pool and hot tub. The pool is an outdoor pool, but it is located in a small courtyard within the hotel.

Desert Palms Hotel Review - Dining:

Another huge perk of staying at the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites is the free breakfast served daily. They serve your standard continental items as well as hot items. Scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, country potatoes and so much more.

Then, at night, the Oasis Kitchen & Bar turns into a full service restaurant that serves family favorites like burgers, salads and pastas.

Desert Palms Hotel Review - Location:

The Desert Palms Hotel & Suites is in a premium location for any Disneyland vacation. It is located on the corner of Katella Avenue and Harbor Boulevard, and is on the same side of the street as the main entrance to the Disneyland Resort. You're looking at approximately a 10 minute walk to Disney's security checkpoint. Along the way you'll walk past numerous restaurants including a Denny's, Cold Stone Creamery, the Pizza Press and an I.H.O.P.. There's also another I.H.O.P. right across the street from the Desert Palms in case you need to get your fill of pancakes.
