There is something special about summer nights. There is something extra special about SeaWorld Summer Nights, the official celebration of the season at SeaWorld San Diego! The park offers extended hours to make way for memorable nighttime shows, only available on select nights through the summer. Here is a quick glimpse at what you can expect at SeaWorld Summer Nights:

Cirque de la Mer - This is a daytime show that combines incredible acrobats with powerful music and special effects celebrating sea life on Mission Bay. You can meet the characters from the show outside the stadium after each showing.

Sea Lions Tonite - Everyone's favorite sea lions, Clyde and Seamore, star in this comedy show that spoofs the park's daytime shows and attractions. Get there early for the best seating, and be aware that this show calls out guests as they arrive as part of the pre-show.

Shamu's Celebration: Light Up the Night - The name says it all - this is a thrilling show featuring majestic orcas illuminated in ways you've never seen before. Bring your glow wear, and you'll fit right in!

Fireworks - There is something truly magical about fireworks over water and this show dazzles over Mission Bay. The fireworks begin on Memorial Day weekend and go through select nights through Labor Day weekend. The fireworks show nightly in June and July. The best viewing areas for the fireworks are inside Shamu Stadium, along the bay near Mission Bay Theater and at the entrance to SeaWorld.

Although most of the attractions are available at SeaWorld year-round, there are a few attractions that are especially refreshing on a hot summer day. You won't want to miss Journey to Atlantis, which is a combination of a roller coaster, special effects and aquarium. You WILL get wet. Another guaranteed soaker is Shipwreck Rapids. You'll ride on a tubular raft through winding river rapids. If the rapids don't get you wet (and they will), the water cannons give fellow guests the opportunity to soak you all the way through! Of course, you can always risk getting drenched by sitting in the soak zone at One Ocean, the daytime Shamu show.

If you're looking to cool off, but want to stay dry, exhibits like the Penguin Encounter, Wild Arctic, Turtle Reef and Shark Encounter are indoors and air conditioned.
