Ways to Celebrate at the Disneyland Resort

By Kimberly Fidler 09/24/2014

A Disneyland vacation is always something to celebrate, but it's even more magical when you are celebrating something or someone special. To help make your celebrations at the Disneyland Resort even more meaningful, we've put together a list of some of the extra special experiences available:

First things first. Get a celebration button at City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. or from Guest Services in Disney California Adventure. Birthday buttons are a free gift from the Resort and are sure to get you all sorts of attention from Cast Members throughout the Resort. Buttons are also available for first visits, anniversaries, newlyweds and more. If you're celebrating anything, let the folks over at the parks know! When you are wearing a celebration button you will get extra attention and sometimes special surprises throughout the Resort. You never know what extra Disney magic will be part of your celebration!

Next, any princess would love a transformation for her special occasion. The Disneyland Resort has different options for all ages and budgets. Choose from these experiences:

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: All little girls have wished for a fairy godmother at one time or another, and their wish can come true at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Your daughter enters the boutique from the outside of Sleeping Beauty's Castle and after some magic from their fairy godmother-in-training, emerge transformed into shimmering princesses. Prices start at $54 and go up depending on any additions for your princess's special day. Appointments are required (call (714) 781-STYLE (7895)) and are only available for children ages 3-12. Knight transformations are available for boys starting at $19.

Studio 365: Located in Downtown Disney, Studio 365 offers rockin' makeovers starting at just $19 per person. There are a wide range of hairstyles for your pop princess, including all new Anna and Elsa coronation transformations for $35. Boys can get a frosty transformation like Olaf for $19. Appointments are required and can be made 60 days in advance by calling (714) 781-STYLE (7895).

Sephora - older birthday girls (or those celebrating a special anniversary) can also get a little more grown-up makeover at Sephora. You can pop in for a quick and free 15-minute touch-up or mini makeover at almost any time. Or, schedule a 45-minute personal consultation and makeover that's free with a $50 purchase. You can make a reservation for your Sephora makeover here.

Character Dining is always cause for celebration. It's the best way to get personalized attention from the Characters, plus the food is delicious! When you celebrate a birthday at any of the Character Dining locations, be sure to let the folks over at Disney Dining know when you set up your reservation. Dessert is already included of course, but they'll arrange a special birthday cupcake with a candle as the Characters sing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday boy or girl! Although not considered Character Dining, the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue has plenty of character for your celebration as well. The all-you-care-to-eat lunch or dinner is incredibly popular and your special guest is sure to get lots of attention and interaction from the crew. Remember to order your Character Dining tickets from Get Away Today ahead of time and you'll save up to 10% since our tickets already include your tax and gratuity.

Blow out your candles with your own customized Disney birthday cake or mini cake surprise - either are available at select table-service restaurants, including Character Dining throughout the Resort. You can set up a birthday cake for your party up to 60 days prior to your visit, but there is at least a 3-day minimum, so it's always better to order early. You can place your order through Disney Dining.
