UPDATED MARCH 2019 Disneyland has got to be one of the best places in the entire galaxy! Dreams come true on a daily basis. Beginning this weekend, Star Wars dreams are going to really come to life when Season of the Force officially begins. Guests at Disneyland will be able to experience special encounters with Darth Vader and Chewbacca at the Star Wars Launch Bay, and get a sneak peek of The Force Awakens as they step inside scenes from the upcoming movie on updates to Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. Then, in December little Jedis will get interactive Jedi training at the reimagined Jedi Training experience. Their newly acquired Jedi skills will be tested as they face some of the most popular Star Wars villains like Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister! It is going to be a blast.

With all of the Star Wars Land Disneyland excitement in the air, I thought it would be fun to create a few Disneyland vacation announcement ideas to share on our blog. Your little Jedi Knights will be so excited to find out they are headed to the Happiest Place on Earth - Star Wars style when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens in Disneyland on May 31, 2019! We like to make things easy on you, so take advantage of the free printables below. Your mission is simple: Have fun and enjoy the combined magic of Disneyland and Star Wars!

You will need:
Pool Noodle
Star Wars Duck Tape (and you can order it straight from Amazon)
Measuring Tape
Knife
Disneyland Vacation Surprise Poem (download here)
or
Disney World Vacation Surprise Poem (download here)

You will start by constructing your light sabers. Each pool noodle makes three lightsabers. Measure 18 inch sections and mark them.

Cut the pool noodle into thirds with a serrated knife. Wrap the bottom of each light stick with the duct tape. Don't you love the new patterned Star Wars Duck Tape that is out? It is so fun. I did two layers of tape to make the handle thicker.

Print the Star Wars Disneyland or Disney World Vacation Surprise poem. It is best in color. This poem will announce to your little Jedis that your family is headed to Disneyland or Disney World!

Roll the poem into a scroll. Then, place it into the hole in the lightsaber. It fits nicely inside.

When you give your kids the lightsabers tell them that Yoda sent them a message. He said, "Do not focus only on the outside, but look inward, young Jedi. It is when you look inside, that you will find true direction." Isn't Yoda wise? Make sure to have your camera ready to catch the smiles on their faces when your kids realize they are going to Disneyland! They can then proceed to get their excitement out by having epic lightsaber battles. May the force be with you.

The second Star Wars Disneyland Vacation Announcement takes the experience one step further.

You will need:
Pool Noodle Lightsaber
6 White Helium Filled Balloons
Black Sharpie Marker
Printable Disney Vacation Surprise Clues (download here)

Start by printing off the Disneyland Vacation Surprise Clues here. Cut the clues into strips. There will be six clues when you are finished.

Roll the strips into scrolls. Use a small piece of scotch tape to secure the scroll in place. Label the scrolls in order so that your younglings will be able to put the clues back together when it is time.

Take the clues with you when you purchase your helium balloons. Slide the clues into the balloons so that each balloon has one clue inside. Then fill them with helium. Now, it is time to transform the balloons into Stormtroopers! I found it easiest to sit on a chair and hold the balloon in between my legs. Draw the face from the top to the bottom. It is actually very easy to create these Stormtrooper faces. Break it down into sections. Start with the small line on the top, then add the second line and the eyes. Make the mouth. Draw the stacked rectangles and the circles. Then, add the sides with the line and dashes.

The first balloon took me about eight minutes to create. The sixth balloon only took about three minutes! It gets very quick and easy once you get a groove going.

Now, it is time for the fun part. Secure the Stormtrooper army to the ground. If you are doing it outside, press stakes into the grass and hook on the balloon ribbons. If you are indoors, tape the ribbons onto the floor. Don't they look wicked?

Arm your Jedi Knights with their light sabers and let them attack. It is hilarious watching the Stormtroopers bounce and bop all over the place. When the hit is hard enough, the balloon pops!

When all of the Storm Troopers have been eliminated, let your Jedis gather up the paper scrolls that are scattered around.

Read the clues aloud. Make sure to follow the numbers and keep them in order as you read. When you get to the last clue, get ready for some excitement as your Disneyland vacation is revealed. Cheers will be heard throughout the galaxy.

If you're planning on giving your family a vacation for Christmas this year, you don't have to travel over the holidays. Season of the Force is scheduled to be at Disneyland through Spring 2016. For extra fun, give each member of your family their own Star Wars Vacation Countdown!
