Walt Disney World® Resort Overview

The Walt Disney World® Resort is the most visited attraction in the world. It is the largest theme park in the United States and all sorts of magical.

As an overview, the highlight of the Walt Disney World® Resort is its four theme parks. Magic Kingdom®, Disney's Hollywood Studios®,Disney's Animal Kingdom® and Epcot® are the big four. Additionally, the Walt Disney World® Resort features two water parks; Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Also included as part of Walt Disney World® Resort are the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney Springs® - an incredible shopping, dining and entertainment district, over 20 themed hotels and so much more.

The Walt Disney World® Resort offers everything from luxurious accommodations to campgrounds, high adrenaline rides to intimate character experiences and everything in between. Beyond the theme parks, the Walt Disney World® Resort appeals to those looking for great shopping, golfing, dining, spa treatments and even fishing! There truly is something for everyone at the Walt Disney World Resort, no matter the age or interest.

The entire Walt Disney World® Resort is so large that it would be impossible to do it all in only a few days. We highly recommend taking at least a full week to get the most out of your Walt Disney World® Resort vacation.

Magic Kingdom® at WALT DISNEY WORLD®

Of all the WALT DISNEY WORLD® RESORT theme parks, Magic Kingdom® may be the most iconic. With Cinderella’s Castle being the focal point, Magic Kingdom® is what many people imagine when they hear the words - Disney World. You’ll find six immersive lands from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland and beyond. Classic attractions like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain can be found here, as well as new favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park

Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park is the largest animal-themed park in the world. Over 1,700 animals from 250 species make their home in one of six areas intermixed with incredible attractions. Here, you can take an actual safari and experience the Festival of the Lion King. It’s also where you’ll find Pandora - The World of Avatar. In addition to being breathtakingly beautiful, this Avatar inspired land features two attractions: Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage.

Epcot®

A visit to Epcot® is like a visit to another world. World Celebration is home to Spaceship Earth, housed inside the most recognizable landmark of Epcot®. The World Showcase has 11 pavilions each highlighting a different country’s customs, culture and food. It’s also home to one of the most popular family attractions; Frozen: Ever After in the Norway Pavilion. Epcot® also welcomed two new attractions; Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in late 2021 and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in early 2022.

Epcot also hosts a variety of popular festivals throughout the year. These festivals include the following in order of appearance at the park; International Festival of the Arts, International Flower & Garden Festival, International Food & Wine Festival, and International Festival of the Holidays.

Disney's Hollywood Studios®

Disney's Hollywood Studio has some of the most intense rides at the WALT DISNEY WORLD® RESORT and no shortage of fun. Come explore its eight themed lands including two of the most popular at Walt Disney World Resort; Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Disney Springs®

Fine dining, unique shops and entertainment unlike anything else await you at Disney Springs®. Six James Beard award-winning chefs have restaurants in the dining district, but you’ll also find casual eateries with grab-n-go options. You can find everything from half-pound cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse to donut sandwiches at Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew. Make sure you plan enough time to do it all because you'll want to!

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Whether you’re competing, performing or spectating, you’ll do it in style at the world-class facilities at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. With over 200 athletic events annually, there is always something going on here.

Please keep in mind that many events have not yet returned to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotels

The WALT DISNEY WORLD® RESORT offers a wide variety of hotel options for every family. Choose from Value, Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villas for your vacation. Value hotels are designed to be the most affordable of the Disney hotels, but still provide that Disney magic that you get from staying on-property - including all resort transportation. Moderate hotels offer a few more amenities than the value hotels, including more transportation options. Deluxe hotels are full service hotels, have more transportation options, signature dining and larger rooms. Deluxe Villas often include all of the amenities of a Deluxe Resort, plus many comforts of home, like in-room kitchens.

WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Area Hotels

Orlando is home to a plethora of WALT DISNEY WORLD® RESORT area hotels. You’ll find every popular chain from Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Marriott and beyond. Although these hotels are not considered Disney properties, many offer transportation to Walt Disney World Resort. Once you are on resort property, you will have access to all resort transportation.
