Factors that Affect Disney Cruise Prices

The cost of your Disney cruise will be influenced by the factors listed below:

Cruise Length- typically the shorter the cruise, the less you’ll pay
Cruise Ship - the newest ships will normally cost the most
Departing Port - not only will some costs potentially cost more to sail from, how you get to the port can affect how much you spend on your Disney cruise
Stateroom Type - inside staterooms tend to be the most affordable, while suites or concierge level will increase cost
Number of Guests - on Disney Cruise Line, there are quite a few room types that will allow up to five guests, but sometimes you may be able to save a little by splitting your party up into two (or in some cases more) staterooms
When You Book - Because Disney only has five ships, there is limited availability. Typically with Disney, the earlier you book your Disney Cruise, the less you’ll pay because you have the most inventory and the more economical staterooms are still available

2023 and 2024 Disney Cruise Line vacations are now available! You can typically hold your Disney Cruise for 20% down with final payment due approximately 120 days before travel. By booking early, you'll lock in the lowest prices, plus get the best staterooms and reservation availability. Additional Costs for Disney Cruises:

Out of all of the family cruise lines, Disney offers the most value. Their rotational dining gives you the experience of themed restaurants that would be an additional cost on other cruise lines. Another differentiator is that non-alcoholic drinks, including soda are included. So are first run Disney movies, saving you the cost of a movie ticket when you get back to land. And of course, you get all of Disney’s entertainment including Broadway style shows, Character meet-and-greets, and themed nights. Plus, Disney is the only cruise line that offers fireworks at sea!

However, even with so much already included on your Disney Cruise, there are a few things that you’ll need to be prepared to pay extra for. Some will be required for your cruise, and others are completely optional. Either way, it is good to know both so you can plan accordingly.

Gratuities - Gratuities for your stateroom host, dining room server, assistant server, and head server are also not included in the price of your Disney cruise. Disney sets the standard gratuity amounts, which is currently $14.50 per person, per day. You can easily prepay your gratuities, which is recommended for convenience. And if there is someone who goes above and beyond, you may want to leave them an additional amount.

Alcohol and Specialty Drinks - Disney Cruise Line offers a wide range of alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks at various bars and lounges onboard their ships. Guests who wish to indulge in these drinks can purchase them individually, and prices will vary. Guests may also choose from wine packages, which will include 3-7 bottles of wine and can be pre-purchased before the cruise or bought onboard. It's worth noting that guests must be 21 years or older to purchase or consume alcohol onboard, and drinks may not be taken off the ship.

Excursions - Each port offers a variety of activities off the ship, such as snorkeling, sightseeing, and cultural experiences. You can purchase these directly from Disney Cruise Line. If your Disney cruise has a stop at either of Disney’s private islands, Disney’s Castaway Cay or the new Lighthouse Point, there is plenty to do on the island without paying for additional activities, but they are available. You can purchase these ahead of your cruise, which we recommend as the most popular excursions will sell out. We’ll let you know when it’s time to book, and if you need any help, our team is happy to advise.

Onboard activities - Although most of your onboard activities are included, there are some additional experiences you can add-on to enhance your experience. Senses Spa & Salon, where you can indulge in a massage or other spa treatments for an additional cost. Kids ages 3-12 have the option of a princess, knight or pirate makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for an extra charge. There are also onboard shops where you can purchase souvenirs, duty-free items, and even luxury brands. Finally, for those who enjoy fine dining, Disney Cruise Line offers some adults only high-end restaurants that require an additional fee, such as Remy and Palo.

Transportation - you're flying to your departure port or need ground transportation to the port, you'll need to factor in those costs as well. Get Away Today can help arrange your shuttle to/from the port.

Planning ahead and budgeting for these additional expenses will help ensure that you have a worry-free and enjoyable Disney Cruise vacation.

Experience the magic of Disney like never before by booking a Disney cruise! When you consider everything that's included in your cruise fare, you'll find that the value is truly unbeatable. From the delicious dining options to the exciting onboard activities and entertainment, you'll never run out of things to do.
