Universal Studios Hollywood is known for taking you right into the action of your favorite movies, films and now video games. From behind-the-scenes movie secrets, bringing you face to face with the Indominus rex and making your way through Hogwarts™, Universal Studios is just getting started. We can’t wait to introduce you to a new way to play in 2023 at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™!

Everything To Know About SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™: Rides

To get to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ at Universal Studios Hollywood, you need to travel down to the Lower Lot. Visitors then enter the land through a Warp Pipe to transport you to all things Nintendo.

The Lower Lot area might be familiar to you as it’s home to Jurassic World – The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride and TRANSFORMERS™: The Ride-3D. Now that we’re familiar with some of the nearby attractions let’s talk about the rides inside SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™.

Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge

Play begins even before the race! In the Mario Kart™: Bowser's Challenge queue you'll tour Bowser’s iconic castle. As you prepare to face off on the track you’ll pass through the hall of medallions and trophies to the prized Golden Cup. Don’t forget to keep your eye out for his secret plan to defeat Team Mario in the queue.

Once you’re ready to race, put on a pair of augmented reality goggles and take your seat in a four-seater ride vehicle. Watch for the 3-2-1 countdown and be ready to battle Team Bowser on iconic Mario Kart™ courses alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. The ride itself is a combination of virtual reality with projection mapping and moving set pieces.

During the race, collect coins and throw shells to win the Golden Cup!

How to Get Into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™

We were there to experience this new area of Universal Studios for its opening and came back shortly after. There are currently 3 ways to get into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ at Universal Studios Hollywood:

Buy SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ Early Access through the app which gives you entry one hour before regular park operating hours.
Use the Universal Studios Virtual Queue (when required) to gain entry.
Purchase the VIP Experience which gets you inside the area and a special queue for Mario Kart™: Bowser's Challenge.

But once you’ve secured your way into the world, how do you physically get there?

First, after entering Universal Studios Hollywood, take the escalator to the Lower Lot and follow the signs (or all the people walking) into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™.

Second, you’ll walk through an actual green warp pipe with music to guide you through and exit into a world you’ve only ever dreamed of!

Power-Up Band™

Elevate your adventures with your Power-Up Band™! Use your band to keep score throughout the land as you take on key challenges, collect digital coins, and more. With your Power-Up Band, you’ll experience a new way to play.

Power-Up Bands are available in several designs like:

Princess Peach
Toad
Yoshi
And more

If you’re wearing your Power-Up Band™ during face-to-face meet ups you may get an enhanced experience. Plus, the Power-Up Bands can go home with you as souvenirs and be used again every time you return.

1-UP Factory™

Shopping at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ is an experience in itself! Find the perfect souvenir at the 1-UP Factory™ store. This super-fun store is where you can find wearable merch, plushies, decor, collectables and more. We’re already loving some of the merchandise that’s shown up around Universal Studios Hollywood and at Universal City Walk.

Meet Mario and friends face-to-face at the new land in Universal Studios Hollywood.

You’ve grown up with them, you can meet with them face-to-face at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™. Snap a selfie together and don’t forget to wear your Power-Up Band™ for another surprise.

What fuels our favorite Nintendo characters? Some of this we’ve seen play out on the screen for decades, but now it’s time to taste-test the real life recipes.

Toadstool Cafe™

You’re not imagining it! Step inside Toadstool Cafe where Chef Toad treats you to fun, tasty dishes. You’ll enjoy the playful scenery of the Mushroom Kingdom from the window and there’s even a spot where you can watch the Toad Chefs create your meal.

In order to eat at Toadstool Cafe, you’ll need to make a reservation. However, the only way to make a reservation is once you’re within the land. You’ll want to head to Toadstool Cafe and speak with a staff member at the entrance. They’ll get your name, phone number and how many people are in your party. Once a reservation becomes available, you’ll receive a text message. You’ll want to make sure you are checked-in within 15 minutes of receiving the message. Once you’re checked in, you’ll wait to be seated at Toadstool Cafe.

In rare cases when the land isn’t busy, you might be able to be seated immediately. It never hurts to ask!
