Disney Crowd Calendar - The Best Time to Go to Disney

Disneyland® and Walt Disney World are pure magic, which means they draw quite a few crowds each year. Disney crowd calendars have popped up over the web to help guests plan their days around the suspected crowd level. We've found that, as the Disney Parks become more and more popular, these crowd calendars become less and less accurate. However, we have a few tips that seem to stand true, even in the busiest of times. Read them below, but don't forget that the best time to go to Disney is when you can go!

Disneyland® Crowd Calendar Tips:

There are many crowd indicators at Disneyland®, including Annual Passholders, school breaks, conventions and more. Top tips include planning your Disneyland® vacation during the week, as you'll see some of the slowest days - even during busier times - on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Additionally, try to avoid busy times like fall breaks (typically spread through the first two weeks of October) and the first few weeks of summer. 2019 is expected to bring some of the largest crowds the Park has seen, with Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opening. No opening date has been announced, but many expect the land to open near the end of June, beginning of July. Based on that, January through May will likely see the lowest crowds of the year, with summer and holidays seeing much more traffic. If you are planning on visiting during busier times, make sure to utilize things like FastPass, MaxPass and mobile ordering.

Walt Disney World Crowd Calendar Tips:

Disney World is similar to Disneyland® when it comes to crowds, but different since it holds four parks instead of the two. You'll find that the same breaks will affect crowds, although Annual Passholders and conventions aren't as much of an impact. Star Wars Land is set to open late fall of 2019, which means we'll likely see the most crowds towards the end of the year. January, February, August and September have frequently shown lower crowds in the past, though August and September may be busier once the date for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is announced. Make sure to plan your FastPass+ and dining reservations in advance to save the most time!
