Disneyland® Resort - Most Commonly Asked Questions

Are reservations required to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort? How do I make a reservation?

Due to reduced Park capacity, both a valid theme park ticket and a reservation will be required in order to visit the Disneyland® Resort.

Once your Disneyland® tickets have been linked to your Disneyland® account, you’ll be able to make your party’s reservations through Disneyland’s reservation system in five simple steps.

  • Go to StartYourDisneylandExperience.com
  • Sign In or Create a Disney Account
  • Create your Party by linking your tickets
  • Select the Day and Theme Park you'd Like to Visit
  • Review and Confirm Your Visit
Please be aware that Get Away Today is not responsible for making your reservation and you will be responsible for making your own reservation in order to visit the Disneyland® Resort. Reservations are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

How can I find my DISNEYLAND® Resort ticket numbers from Get Away Today so I can make a reservation?

In order to make a theme park reservation, you must link your Disneyland® ticket numbers. You can find your Disneyland® Resort ticket number(s) from Get Away Today one of two ways:

1. Your ticket numbers are located in your after-booking email titled “Get Away Today Vacation Itinerary” as a PDF attachment. You can find your 19-digit ticket number(s) in the top, right-hand corner of the PDF underneath the barcode. You will have a different 19-digit ticket number for each ticket purchased.

2. You can also find your ticket numbers by logging into your account on our website. You can do this by clicking on the “Sign In” button on the top, right-hand corner of our website. If you already have an account, you can proceed to sign in. However, if you don’t have an account, you can create one with the same information you used to book your vacation. Once you sign in successfully, you’ll need to click on the drop-down button located next to the sign-in icon. Here, you’ll click on the “Upcoming Travel” button. Once you do this, you’ll be able to see your upcoming travel items. Here, you’ll click on your Disneyland® Resort tickets and then choose “Print/View Documents.” On this page, you’ll be able to view the 19-digit ticket numbers for each member of your party. As a reminder, you will have a different 19-digit ticket number for each ticket purchased.

Do I need to make a reservation on my own to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort? Or will Get Away Today make a reservation for me?

Get Away Today is not responsible for making your reservation and you will be responsible for making your own reservation in order to visit the Disneyland® Resort.

Are reservations automatically made for me when I purchase tickets? Or do I need to make them on my own?

Reservations are not automatically made for you when you purchase tickets and you will need to make them on your own. You will need to visit StartYourDisneylandExperience.com and make reservations before your vacation. If travelling within 180 days, it is recommended that you make your theme park reservations immediately after purchasing your admission.

When can I start making my DISNEYLAND® Resort reservations?

Disneyland® Resort theme park reservations can be made up to 180 days prior to travel on a rolling basis. If travelling within 180 days, it is recommended that you make your theme park reservations immediately after purchasing your admission. We'd encourage you to make your reservations as soon as the 180 day window becomes available for your vacation.

What is Disney Genie? What is Lightning Lane?

Disney Genie is an all-new offering at the Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World Resort! Disney Genie and Lightning Lane is part of the My Disney Experience and Disneyland® App. Because of this new service, Disney’s FastPass, FastPass+, MaxPass and Disney Genie+ services are all permanently retired. The FastPass Queue will be replaced by the Lightning Lane, which will give faster access to some of Disney’s most popular attraction on each coast.

The FREE version of Disney Genie includes:

  • Personalized itinerary plans
  • Forecasted wait times
  • Virtual queue access
  • And more!

Lightning Lane is available for an upgrade and also includes:

  • Access to the Lightning Lane at select attractions (one at a time)
  • PhotoPass Downloads
  • Audio Tours of Select Parks

Lightning Lane access with Lightning Lane multi-passes will work most similarly to Disneyland® Resort’s previous MaxPass system. Lightning Lane at both Disneyland® and Walt Disney World have variable pricing, so the cost for this feature will depend on what day you purchase it. However, when you book with Get Away Today, you can get Lightning Lane at Disneyland® for $30 per person, per day when you pre-purchase it with your tickets.

There WILL still be traditional standby and virtual queues for guests who aren't interested in upgrading. And of course, you can use those lines when you have Lightning Lane as well. It's easy and flexible! Lightning Lane will NOT be available as an upgrade to Magic Key Holders when they become available. Magic Key Holders will be able to purchase Lightning Lane one day at a time through the app.

What attractions are included in Lightning Lane?

For everything you need to know about Lightning Lane at the Disneyland® Resort, be sure to read our in-depth article by clicking HERE.

Is the date that I chose for my DISNEYLAND® Resort tickets at time of booking the date that I have to make my reservation for?

No, our Disneyland® Resort tickets are not date sensitive. This date is only for Get Away Today use.

I purchased a multi-day DISNEYLAND® Resort ticket with Get Away Today and made my Park reservations. I now want to add a day to my ticket. Am I able to add a day to my tickets without losing my reservation?

Since each Disneyland® Resort ticket has a unique ticket number, at this time, you are unable to add a day to your Disneyland® Resort tickets without losing your current reservation. However, since reservations have been widely available, guests have been able to change their tickets and create a new reservation with ease. However, we always recommend checking Disneyland's reservation calendar for availability before you make any changes/cancellations to your current reservations.

When will my DISNEYLAND® Resort tickets expire?

For new ticket purchases, we recommend checking the Disneyland® Resort tickets listed on our website for the most current travel expiration dates. For previous purchases, please look at the date listed on your ticket voucher directly for the most accurate information.

When will I receive my DISNEYLAND® Resort tickets if I'm on a Layaway Plan?

You will receive your Disneyland® Resort tickets after paying off your Layaway Plan in its entirety. You are not able to pay off only the ticket portion of your Layway Plan. Please note that you will not be able to receive your Disneyland® Resort ticket numbers until your Layaway Plan is paid off in full. If you want your Disneyland® ticket numbers to make your reservations immediately, we suggest booking your Disneyland® Resort tickets seperately from your Layaway Plan.

*If your tickets increase in price before your Layaway Plan is paid in full, you will have the option of paying off your Layaway Plan in full to lock-in your current pricing. Otherwise, we will automatically update your package to reflect the new pricing for your convenience.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland® Resort will be from August 23 - October 31, 2024. Guests can expect to see "spooktacular" decor, limited-time treats and merchandise, as well as haunted overlays to some of their favorite attractions. As a reminder, reservations are available 180 days in advance on a rolling basis.

Do you sell Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party tickets?

What is the difference between a PARK HOPPER® and 1-Park Per Day DISNEYLAND® ticket?

A Park Hopper® ticket allows entry to both Disneyland® and Disney California Adventure® Park within the same day. This ticket will give you the most flexible experience for your vacation. *Please note that due to reduced Park capacity, Park Hopping will begin at 11:00 am (starting February 4th) each day as long as capacity allows. Any travel date before 9 February 4, 2023 will still have Park Hopping at 1:00 p.m. Click HERE to book your Disneyland® tickets now!

A 1-Park Per Day ticket allows you to choose between one visit to either Disneyland® or Disney California Adventure® Park. Once you enter either park, you will not be allowed to go to another park for the remainder of the day. You are welcome to choose what park you would like to enter each day, to ensure you get to experience the magic each park has to offer.

How do DISNEYLAND® E-Tickets work?

You will receive your Disneyland® E-Tickets at the email address you provided at time of booking once they are paid in full. Please note that if you put your Disneyland® Resort tickets on a Layaway Plan, you will not recieve your ticket numbers until you've paid for your Layaway Plan in its entirety. With E-Tickets, you can proceed directly to a park entrance and do not need to wait in any Will Call or Ticket Purchase lines. To redeem your E-Tickets, you will need to present your printed copy at the ticket turnstile or have them scanned from your mobile device that has Internet access. Once your E-Ticket has been scanned by a Disneyland® Resort Cast Member, you will then be presented with a physical Disneyland® ticket. You will then use the physical Disneyland® ticket for any remaining admissions to the Disneyland® Resort.

Where can I rent a scooter or wheelchair at the DISNEYLAND® Resort?

Wheelchair and ECV rentals can be found at Wheelchair Rentals at the Disneyland® Resort, which is located outside of Disneyland® Park on the right-hand side. Here, you can rent a manual wheelchair for the day for $15 and an ECV for $60. It’s important to be aware that both rentals require a refundable deposit of $20 and that sales tax is not included. Since renting a wheelchair or an ECV is based on a first-come, first-served basis, we highly recommend arriving as early as possible.

However, if you’ll need an ECV or wheelchair before you enter Disneyland®, we also recommend looking into a local company called ScooterBug. Not only is ScooterBug Disney’s preferred guest mobility provider, but they’ll also deliver your ECV or wheelchair directly to your hotel.

Does DISNEYLAND® offer a Disability Access Service Card?

Yes! The Disabilities Assistance Service cards are intended for anyone who is unable to wait in the traditional lines for any reason including, but not limited to those who fall under the autism spectrum. In order to be issued a card, guests will need to visit City Hall in Disneyland® and the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure® Park. Cast Members will discuss each person's specific limitations and needs, and then issue a card if necessary. Once a card issued, the guest's photograph is printed on the pass.

DAS cards allow guests to get a ticket with a return time for any attraction at special kiosks located throughout the parks. The return time is based on the current wait time of the attraction and is generally issued for 10-15 minutes less than the wait time of the desired attraction. This allows guests to watch parades, grab lunch, ride an attraction that has a short line, or just take a break during time that would normally be spent in line. When guests return to the attraction at the assigned time, they are able to board the attraction immediately. Return times are somewhat flexible and guests may have one DAS ticket at any time.
