The last few days have been "FAM"-tastic for our staff on our annual Southern California Familiarization Trip! You can read all about their adventures on Friday and Saturday (VIP at Universal Studios, a Fairytale Wedding and more) on yesterday's blog article. Here is what we've been up to since then...
Sunday started out visiting hotels in Anaheim. We visited the Best Western Stovall's Hotel, Sheraton Garden Grove, and Homewood Suites. We also got the see the fabulous new rooms at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort. This is one of our best selling hotels because although it is a deluxe hotel, they offer Get Away Today guests an exclusive 3rd night free, making it the price of a value hotel. Plus, when you book with Get Away Today and stay at the Crowne Plaza, your resort fees are waived. That's a $14 per night savings and includes shuttle service to the Disneyland Resort. Not to mention, their pool area has great cabanas available free of charge on a first come, first serve basis. It's no wonder it's such a hit!
Another family favorite is without a doubt the Anaheim Marriott Suites. This all-suite property offers bright, clean guest rooms with luxurious bedding. They have a great restaurant and a Starbucks right on site and an awesome outdoor pool with a fire pit. Get Away Today guests also receive an exclusive 4th night free on select dates, a free full breakfast buffet on all paid nights, and free parking - an extra $10 per night savings!
One of our last stops in Anaheim was at the Castle Inn & Suites and we were treated royally! They recently upgraded all of their guestrooms and they look fantastic.
Our team then headed over to Buena Park to have some more fun. We started at the Holiday Inn Buena Park and saw their newly renovated property. The guestrooms look so fresh and it's no surprise that their pool area is so popular.
We then headed over to the Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel for a quick tour and then spent the next few hours riding the attractions at Knott's Berry Farm. Our staff braved the Xcelerator, Silver Bullet and the family-fun new rides at the new Boardwalk area.
Next we had the opportunity to visit the Titanic and Bodies Exhibits, one of only four Bodies Exhibits and one of only two Titanic Exhibits in the country. These exhibits aren't allowed to be photographed, but they are incredible. The Titanic features authentic artifacts that have been recovered as well as true-to-life replicas of ship cabins and more. The Bodies Exhibit displays meticulously preserved human bodies in all stages. Both exhibits were so interesting and educational. It was such an honor to be able to see them both - and the fact that you can see both exhibits in the same building is pretty amazing.
After the exhibits, we headed to Medieval Times where we feasted like royalty and cheered on the red knight. We left stuffed and entertained. This dinner/show is so much fun and is located in the heart of Buena Park - just 10-15 minutes from Disneyland. We highly recommend it.
