UPDATED 2024. The Disneyland Resort continues to use a reservation system in 2024 to provide a better overall guest experience. Since this reservation system will continue to be in use, we want to make sure all of our guests are equipped with the most up-to-date information on how to use it. We've compiled everything we know about the Disneyland Resort reservation system below.

The Disneyland Resort manages park attendance with a theme park reservation system. We've put together everything we know about the reservation system and will continue to update this article as relevant information comes out.
Let’s start with some of the most common questions and answers about the Disneyland reservation system.
Reservation System Ticket Questions
Will I need a park reservation to get into Disneyland, even if I already have my tickets?
Yes, individuals planning to visit the Disneyland Resort in 2024 will need to make a park reservation AND have a valid theme park ticket in order to enter Disneyland Park and/or Disney California Adventure Park.
Do I need a ticket to make a reservation for Disneyland?
Yes, in order to access the Disneyland reservation system and make a theme park reservation, you'll need to have a valid theme park ticket. But you can preview open days before your purchase.
When will I get my tickets if my vacation is on a Layaway Plan?
Your ticket numbers will be sent to you as soon as your layaway plan is paid off. For this reason we recommend paying off your layaway at least 30 days in advance, or as soon as possible so you can secure your reservations. Some of the most popular travel dates will sell out before 30 days, so keep that in mind. Please give us a call if you have any questions!
Can I still buy tickets if I don’t know my travel dates?
Yes! We recommend having an estimated date when purchasing tickets, however it does not have to be exact. The dates you enter for travel on Get Away Today are NOT tied to your Disneyland reservation, they simply help us send you important vacation reminders via email before your trip. The most important dates are the dates you make your park reservations for directly through Disney.
Do I have to use my tickets on my reservation dates?
You must have a reservation for the date you plan to visit. You can always reschedule your reservation dates through your Disneyland account, provided there is availability and it falls within your ticket limitations.
For example, if your 3-Day Hopper ticket has been used for 2 days but you want to reschedule your third day, you will need to visit within 13 days of the first visit.
Another example, if you have a 3-Day Hopper ticket and decide not to go on your reserved dates, those tickets will remain in your account and be visible for booking new dates. However, we always suggest modifying your reservations if you know you cannot attend so other guests can claim your spots.
How do I know there will be reservations left when I buy my tickets from Get Away Today?
We always suggest accessing Disneyland’s reservation system by clicking HERE before you purchase your tickets.
There are no reservations left for my dates, what do I do?
Reservations open 180 days in advance, but we understand that things change. If you do not see any theme park reservations for your travel dates you have a few options:
- Reschedule your Disneyland vacation, unused tickets often don’t expire for some time. Check your ticket for expiration dates.
- Continue checking the Disneyland availability calendar. Reservations sometimes become available at the last minute, but this requires regular, consistent checking.
- Talk to your Get Away Today vacation specialist about upgrading your hotel stay to a Disneyland Resort Hotel. This may be a more expensive option, but because the hotel guests have a different availability pool, it might allow you to secure reservations for your desired dates. It is not a guarantee but might be worth the upgrade for your vacation. Staying on-property is one of our favorite ways to experience the Disneyland Resort and comes with extra perks like early entry and exclusive park entrances.
Disneyland Reservation System Details
When can I make a reservation for Disneyland?
Theme park reservations for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park can be made up to 180 days in advance on a rolling reservation window.
For example, as of June 15, 2024, theme park reservations are available for travel through December 13, 2024. The next day, they will be available up until December 14, 2024 and so on.
You can make reservations one day at a time as they become available. Or, you can choose to wait until all of your dates are available to make all of your theme park reservations at the same time.
You do not need to wait until your theme park reservation dates are available to purchase tickets. In fact, we recommend purchasing now so you'll have your ticket numbers ready to go as soon as your theme park reservations are available.
How can I link my Disneyland eTicket(s) to my Disney account?
Guests will begin by linking their Disneyland tickets to their Disney account. Begin by visiting StartYourDisneylandExperience.com or logging into the Disneyland app.
Your Get Away Today Disneyland eTickets must be linked to your account in order to make a reservation. Once you sign-in or create a Disney account, you will be taken to the My Theme Park Reservations page. Click the “Book Theme Park Reservations” button to begin creating your party and linking your tickets.
Here, you’ll be able to link up to 5 tickets at a time, 10 total. Please note that you will need to assign a different name to each individual ticket. Ownership of a ticket cannot be changed once it has been linked on a Disney account. Because of this, please ensure that you are entering the desired name for each individual ticket.
Please note that you will not be able to make Park reservations through the Disneyland app.

- Your ticket numbers are located in your after-booking email titled “Get Away Today Vacation Itinerary” as a PDF attachment. You can find your ticket number(s) in the top, right-hand corner of the PDF.
- You can also find your ticket numbers by logging into your account on our website. You can do this by clicking on the “Sign In” button on the top, right-hand corner of our website. If you already have an account, you can proceed to sign in. However, if you don’t have an account, you can create one with the same information you used to book your vacation. Once you sign in successfully, you’ll need to click on the drop down button located next to the sign in icon. Here, you’ll click on the “Upcoming Travel” button. Once you do this, you’ll be able to see your upcoming travel items. Here, you’ll click on your Disneyland Resort tickets and then choose “Print/View Documents.” On this page, you’ll be able to view the ticket numbers for each member in your party.
How do I make a Park reservation?
Once you have your Disneyland Resort ticket numbers, you will be able to make your party’s reservations through Disneyland’s reservation system in five simple steps.
1. Access Disneyland’s reservation system by clicking HERE, or by visiting StartYourDisneylandExperience.com and logging into your Disney account.
2. Sign In or Create a Disney Account
3. Create Your Party by linking your tickets
4. Select the Day and Theme Park you'd like to visit
5. Review and Confirm Your Visit
Does my child need a Park reservation?
Every ticketed guest will need a park reservation. Anyone under 3 does not need a park ticket or reservation.
How far out can I make a Park reservation for Disneyland?
At this time, the Disneyland Resort will open up reservations within a 180-day rolling window. We will be sure to update you if this changes at any time.
Do I need to make a Park reservation on my own to visit the Disneyland Resort, or will Get Away Today make a Park reservation for me?
Because you must be logged into your Disney account to make theme park reservations, Get Away Today is not able to do so. You will be responsible for making your own Park reservation in order to visit the Disneyland Resort.
Can I make reservations on the day-of?
Yes, but theme park reservations are always subject to availability. We strongly encourage you to make your reservations as close to the 180-day window as possible.
How many reservations can I make at one time?
No more than 10 people can make a reservation at a time. If you have a larger group, we would recommend having each individual family or party make their own theme park reservations, and then link your tickets together through the app once your theme park reservations are made.
If I have a multi-day ticket, am I able to reserve all of my days at one time, or do I need to create a separate reservation for each day?
If you have a multi-day ticket, you will need to repeat the reservation process for each day of your ticket. You can do that all at one time, or you can do it one day at a time if all of your dates have not been released yet.
Is there different availability for 1-Park per Day Tickets and Park Hopper Tickets?
Yes, there is a different availability calendar for the two different ticket types so Disney can more accurately determine true park attendance.
Park Hopper tickets generally have more theme park availability when booking. You will only be able to make a theme park reservation if there is availability for the ticket type you purchased. When you log-in to make your theme park reservations, Disney will only show you theme park availability for the ticket type you purchased.
Theme Park Questions
What do I bring to show proof of reservations and ticket purchase?
Once you have secured your reservation, it is now tied to your theme park ticket. On the date of your visit you may use any of the following to gain access to the theme park:
- Get Away Today Disneyland eTicket(s) printed or on your device
- Disneyland tickets via the Disneyland app under “tickets and passes”
- MagicBand+ linked to your Disneyland tickets
Can I Park Hop as part of the Disneyland Reservation System?
Guests with Park Hopper tickets will be allowed to Park Hop between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park after 11:00 am PT each day of their visit, as long as capacity allows.
Do I need to reserve my Park Hopper reservation?
When making a reservation, guests will need to select the Park they wish to visit first. You do not need to select your second Park. Please note that you will need to stay in the Park you select first until 11:00 am PT, but can go back and forth between both parks as many times as you wish after that time.
If I have a 1-Park per Day ticket, will I need to choose what Park I want to visit when making a reservation?
Yes, you will need to choose what Park you want to visit for each day of your ticket when making your reservation.
Can I leave the parks without losing my reservation?
Yes, you have in and out privileges all day of your reservation, subject to theme park capacity. Many guests enjoy a mid-day swim or nap break. Others like to visit Downtown Disney for shopping or meals and then return to the parks later.
Can I change my theme park reservations after I've made them?
Yes, you are able to change your theme park reservations based on availability. Changes can be made to dates and starting park as long as the date/park you wish to change to are available. Please keep in mind, tickets must be used within 13 days after the first day of the ticket is used.
Can I change my ticket from One-Park-Per Day to a Park Hopper ticket? Or upgrade how many days I'll be visiting the Park?
Yes, please give us a call at 855- GET AWAY and we can help you upgrade your tickets. Please be advised that you will lose any existing theme park reservations when you make the upgrade.

If I can't make a reservation for my desired travel dates, can I reschedule my vacation?
Yes! If you booked a hotel through Get Away Today and aren’t able to get your desired reservation dates, our agents are happy to help you reschedule your vacation. If you just purchased tickets, you can easily reschedule your theme park reservations through your Disney account.
When will my Disneyland Resort tickets expire?
If you're purchasing new tickets, you can check the expiration date when browsing on our website. If you've already purchased tickets, check your ticket vouchers for the most accurate expiration date.

I am taking myself and two kids to Disneyland & California Adventure. I have the three vouchers from you all for our 3-day pass tickets & I have made reservations for all three of us on the three days we plan to go to Disneyland & California Adventure. Those three days of reservations are also showing up in my Disneyland app. Do I still have to link something to something to get into the gates on the day we arrive? I'm very confused about the Get Away Today vouchers I received as E-Tickets for each of us, and how they connect to the park reservations I have for each day in the app. There is a lot of talk about "linking your tickets to your reservations in the Disneyland app," but I cannot figure out which confirmation # to use in the Disneyland app to link the tickets to the reservation so that it's all in the app on the days we enter. This system seems overly complicated and I worry that if I miss some important steps all of this Disney planning work will float down the drain. Why so confusing? Thanks for any help.

Hi Anonymous, You will just need to show your eTicket when at the gate for the first time entering the Parks. Your Park reservations are linked to that ticket number, then the Cast Member will print you a ticket for you to use for the rest of your stay. You can also use your ticket barcode on the Disneyland App when entering the Parks.

Hi Anonymous - So far the Parks have not reached capacity. If you purchase a Park Hopper ticket, Disney is taking Park Hopping into capacity considerations. It is very unlikely that you wouldn't be able to get back into a park if you are to leave with the current reservation system.
