Disneyland World of Color Dessert Party
May 20, 2024

UPDATED MAY 2024: The Disneyland World of Color Dessert Party is one of our favorite Disneyland Resort splurges—and since you’ve already saved with our discount tickets this upgrade is worth the cost. Here's everything you need to know about the Disneyland World of Color Dessert Party and more World of Color viewing options at Disney California Adventure Park.

Disneyland World of Color Dessert Party

The World of Color Dessert Party is easily one of the best ways to experience the award-winning, nighttime spectacular that is World of Color. Keep reading to learn more about the World of Color virtual queue, World of Color Dining Packages, World of Color Dessert Party and more!

Disneyland World of Color Virtual Queue

There are a few different ways to watch World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park:
  1. Access a Virtual Queue through the Disneyland app at no additional cost. In order to enter the virtual queue, you must have entered either Disney California Adventure Park or Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket. If you’re able to make a virtual queue selection, you’ll receive a notification within the Disneyland app to enter a designated World of Color viewing area about 45 minutes before the show begins. You’ll receive either a Blue or Yellow entrance point, so be sure to go to the correct entrance as noted by Blue or Yellow lamp post lights.
  2. Stand-by viewing is available if the virtual queue is full. Simply visit the Paradise Bay viewing area before World of Color begins to ask a Cast Member about walk-up viewing options. Of course, joining the virtual queue isn’t required to view World of Color, but we highly recommend it.
  3. Our best recommendation is to purchase either a World of Color Dining Package or World of Color Dessert Party package for the best viewing experience. Below, we’ve outlined what you can expect from each of these options.

Disneyland World of Color Dining Packages

The World of Color Dining Packages are an additional charge, but are a great option if you're looking to get priority viewing for the show. The price range for these packages start at $65 per adult. It’s important to note that these prices don’t include tax or gratuity.

The participating restaurants are Wine Country Trattoria, Magic Key Terrace and Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Wine Country Trattoria. At Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa you’ll get a dinner buffet and a nonalcoholic beverage (specialty coffees not included).

If you’re dining at Wine Country or Magic Key Terrace you can choose from a special World of Color dining menu. At this time, you cannot make advanced reservations for either of these dining packages, but you will need a reservation for the specific restaurant. Then when you check into your dining reservation, you'll just want to let your host or server know that you'd like the World of Color Dining Package.

With each of these packages, you’ll receive one (1) voucher that reserves your spot in the World of Color preferred viewing area at Paradise Gardens Park.

World of Color Dessert Party

The World of Color Dessert Party makes you feel like the ultimate Disneyland VIP. The World of Color Dessert Party starts at $89 for anyone ages 2 and older. Children ages 2 and younger are free, provided they are on the lap of an adult.

Not only will you receive a selection of desserts, cheeses and drinks, but you’ll also receive a prime seating and viewing location for World of Color.

World of Color Dessert Party - Cost

The World of Color Dessert Party starts at $89 per person for both adults and children ages 3-9. This price also includes your tax and gratuity, but can change at any time. Children ages two and under do not require a ticket, and are welcome to share desserts with the rest of your family.

World of Color Dessert Party - Arrival Time

You'll need to arrive at Paradise Gardens Park at least 60 minutes before World of Color is scheduled to begin. That time allows you to get yourself situated, enjoy desserts and drinks and be ready for the show. Refer to the Disneyland app to see accurate showtimes and put a reminder in your phone to help you stay organized.

World of Color Dessert Party - Check in Location

The check in location for the World of Color Dessert Party may change from time to time. Currently it is at the Eureka water wheel near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. This is where you’re given a wristband so you can come and go if you need to during the party and/or show. You will also receive your table assignment. Children ages two and under do not need a wristband. Once everyone has checked in, you'll then be personally seated at your table in the private, designated seating area just for guests of the World of Color Dessert Party.

World of Color Dessert Party - Menu

Once you’re settled in, get ready for the food and drinks! Your server will bring each ticketed person in your party their own plate with a full spread of all of the dessert goodness. The menu is always subject to change, but you can usually enjoy crackers, fruit and cheeses, cakes, macarons, cookies and so much more!

It’s always a perfect mix of sweet and savory desserts, and they’re all bite-sized. You can enjoy an unlimited supply of delicious drinks, and we HIGHLY recommend the hot chocolate, which is available during the fall and winter months.

Alcoholic drinks are available for guests ages 21+ with valid ID. Since the servers don’t want to block anyone’s view during the show, be sure to order all drinks before things get started.

The best part about the World of Color Dessert Party is that you have a table and seats for the entire party and show! There is nothing better than enjoying World of Color from the comfort of a chair while snacking on some delicious treats. After a long day of experiencing all the Resort has to offer, it feels wonderful to get off your feet. During the World of Color Dessert Party, you’ll be seated with other guests at the Park, and it’s such a delight to share in the excitement.

Hi! Times may vary for the World of Color showing, so we recommend checking the Disneyland App for all start times.

Since it’s returning soon I am wanting to try it out! Do you know what time world of color typically is??

We are planning on visiting the second week of December. There will be a 21 month old, 4 year old and 4 adults in our party. Would you recommend the dessert party for us? Anything we should be aware of having two little ones?
