Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review

There are so many options when it comes to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, that it can become overwhelming quickly. Luckily, many of our staff have stayed at properties across the Resort and can offer our personal expertise. Today, we're looking at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. This value property is sister to the All-Star Movies and All-Star Music Resorts and is a family-favorite that often sells out. Check out everything about the rooms, amenities, dining and more in our All-Star Sports Resort review below.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – Rooms:

All of the rooms at Disney’s All-Star Sport offer two double beds, a desk, TV and bathroom with separate vanity. These are definitely the most basic of hotel rooms when it comes to Disney World, but worth the value for families looking to save the most. All of the All-Star Sport rooms also offer a sporty and 80s-reminiscent theme with bright carpet, walls and artwork.
When you book with Get Away Today, you may request a room with a view of the pool, courtyard or parking area, subject to availability.

Our favorite part has to be the separated vanity area, since it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier. You won’t have to worry about waiting for each person to get their own turn, instead you can have one or two members brushing their teeth and getting ready while another is showering. Talk about a time saver!

And while the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is a value property, you’ll still find the normal room amenities like free WiFi and a mini-refrigerator.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – Amenities & Resort Perks:

Speaking of amenities, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort offers so much for families looking for the most bang for their buck. Free Wifi, online check-in, parking for $13 per night, laundry and dry-cleaning services and even optional childcare services are some of the normal amenities included. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, be sure to let us know when you book. Disney loves to help make your vacation memorable, and offers in-room celebrations for your special event.

There’s even more included when you stay at the All-Star Sports Resort or any other Walt Disney World Resort hotel, though. Things like free transportation to and from the Orlando airport via Disney's Magical, complimentary merchandise delivery from the parks and an included shuttle system that runs throughout the entire Walt Disney World Resort. Additionally, you’ll get a free Magic Band per person and access to Extra Magic Hours when you bundle your All-Star Sports Resort stay with Disney World tickets.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – Pools & Activities:

The sports theme extends to more than just the rooms at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. In fact, each building section has a different sport theme with larger than life decorations. And the two pools, the Surfboard Bay Pool and Grand Slam Pool, are themed after – you guessed it – surfing and baseball. The Surfboard Bay Pool has 3-story tall surfboards lining the area along with a kiddie pool for the littlest members. The Grand Slam Pool is shaped like a baseball diamond and even features Goofy on a pitching mound to lob some fast-flying streams of water at guests. There’s even a fun playground near the Touchdown! Building, or families can enjoy themselves at the Game Point Arcade by the food court.

Select onsite Walt Disney World Resort hotels are also known for offering Movies Under the Stars to guests. Whether it’s on the lawn or from the pool, it’s a fun, complimentary activity for guests to enjoy together at the end of the day. You can check with the front desk for showtimes and a lineup of which movies will be playing during your vacation.

Like many other Disney World hotels, All-Star Sports Resort offers a one-mile jogging trail. This is a convenient way to start the day with some fresh air, or to enjoy some cooler temperatures during an evening run.

No matter where you wander at the Disney’s All-Star Sports, you’re sure to find some sports memorabilia.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – Dining:

Looking for a bite to eat while staying at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort? You’re in luck! The hotel offers an End Zone Food Court that serves up all kinds of American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This quick-service restaurant qualifies for Disney’s Dining Plans, making it easy to use a credit or two for mornings or evenings you end up at the hotel. Additionally, you can mobile order and pay for your food in advance to avoid the traditional queue. Adults will love the Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar next to the Surfboard Bay Pool, too. And, for an extra fee, you can have pizza, salad, snacks and more delivered straight to your room. Your family won’t go hungry at the All-Star Sports!

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – Location:

Last but not least, let’s look at the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort’s location.  The All-Star Sports Resort is located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, just a few minutes from Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the next closest, followed by Epcot and ending with Magic Kingdom Park as the farthest. Just be aware that all three of the All-Star properties (Sports, Music and Movies) share the same shuttle, so you could potentially see a longer wait time coming home from the parks each night. Even then, the great pricing (sometimes less than $100 per nights) makes that more than worth it for many families.
