When two celebrations collide, it often has guests wondering—what is staying and what is going?
We’ve had those same questions ourselves like:
- Will Paint the Night run during Halloween Time at Disneyland?
- What fireworks will be shown during the 70th and Halloween?
- Will the 70th decoration be up during Halloween Time?
And many more. The good news is, we now have answers and are super excited for the spookiest, happiest celebration ever August 22 - October 31, 2025.

What’s Staying for the 70th and Halloween Time: Disneyland Park
Keep this list handy of things to experience during the unique combination of Halloween and Celebrate Happy and Disneyland Resort.
- Visit the new attraction like “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” at the Main Street Opera House. This article details if the Virtual Queue is still needed for this attraction during Halloween Time.
- Hear the newest 4th verse to “it’s a small world” coming to life on this beloved attraction. Lightning Lanes also available!
- Paint the Night is going strong and we couldn’t be more thrilled! This parade has been a favorite of guests for years and everyone has been asking, “when can we do this again?”
- “Tapestry of Happiness” continues lighting up the night at Disneyland Park! The facade of “it’s a small world” comes to life through a mosaic of light, music and projection effects. You may recognize the artwork style as that of Disney artist Mary Blair. Tapestry of Happiness will also feature the original 70th celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy.”
Paint the Night is a spectacular light parade that everyone is sure to love, especially during Halloween Time!

What’s Staying for the 70th and Halloween Time: California Adventure Park
- "World of Color Happiness!” at Disney California Adventure Park is a show you won’t want to miss. Viewing is available through the Virtual Queue and dining packages like the World of Color Dessert Party.
What’s New and Returning for the 70th and Halloween Time
1. Find a colorful mix of 70th decor fused with Halloween Time decor throughout the resort.
2. Wondrous Journeys will pause at Disneyland Park to welcome back Halloween Screams. This popular projection show (enhanced with fireworks on select nights) features state-of-the-art projection effects that transform Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America.
3. In the evenings at California Adventure, the exterior of Carthay Circle Restaurant will still have music, lights and projection effects—but they’ll be updated for a Halloween aesthetic.

4. Meet Mickey Mouse and friends in their new Halloween Time outfits. While their 70th Anniversary outfits will hang back for a bit, these bright new looks feature swirling colors of purple, green and orange — a twist on their 70th Celebration outfits!
5. Returning to California Adventure, Mickey’s Trick and Treat Show - Toddlers, preschoolers and little ones will love this festive show in Hollywood Land showing several times a day. “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!,” will pause during Halloween Time.
6. Haunted Mansion Holiday - This fan-favorite holiday classic turns the Haunted Mansion into a mash-up of Halloween and Christmas with the crew from Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero and Oogie Boogie all make appearances. Disneyland Park is the only place in the world to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday.

8. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit! - Available from August 29 through October. 31, you can purchase an activity map to aid your search for Disney-themed pumpkins hidden in Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park or Downtown Disney District.
9. Radiator Screams - Cars Land has always been one of our favorite parts of Disney California Adventure. Just for Halloween, Radiator Springs transforms into Radiator Screams with “spoke-y” decor and “spook-tacular” rides:
- Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree - A Halloween twist on Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree
- Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-o-Ween - Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters gets a Halloween makeover
- Mater and Lightning McQueen - You’ve never seen “car-stumes” like those sported by McQueen and his pals

10. Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark - When nighttime falls, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! transforms into Monsters After Dark. This version of the attraction gets a little bit darker and features a custom soundtrack that will leave you screaming as you rescue Baby Groot from the Collector.
Not only is this attraction unique to Disney California Adventure Park, it’s unique to Halloween Time and only available in late afternoon/evenings.
