HALLOWEEN TIME 2026. Spooky overlays, "boo"tiful decor and Oogie Boogie Bash are just a few of the things offered during Halloween Time at Disneyland. If you are not attending the separately ticketed party, don't worry! We've compiled everything you can do if you don't have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets.

This is Halloween, this is Halloween, everybody scream! You'll be screaming from delight, not fright, when you visit the Disneyland Resort from late August through October 31st. Ride overlays, experience seasonal decor and find new food offerings all during this spooky time of year.

On top of that, California Adventure Park closes early on select nights for Oogie Boogie Bash, where trick-or-treating and exclusive entertainment occur.

Do You Need Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets?

No, Oogie Boogie Bash is an exclusive after hours party for trick or treating, wearing costumes and party-exclusive entertainment. While tickets may still be available for select dates, you don’t need party tickets to enjoy Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort.

We have tons of Halloween celebration ideas, both within Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Park and outside of the parks!

Just remember that if you choose to have your own party during the evenings at Disneyland, you need to have a Park Hopper ticket or already be in that park for the day with a 1-Park per Day ticket. Now, let's look at all the fun you can have even if you don't have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets!

Halloween Fun at Disney California Adventure Without Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets

There’s so much Halloween fun during the day at California Adventure. Some days will end for regular guests at 6:00 pm (on nights of Oogie Boogie Bash). And some days extend well into the evening hours until 9:00 or 10:00 pm.

For those days that end at 6:00 pm you can hop to Disneyland or simply get rested up for your next Disneyland day. The choice is yours—but you’ll certainly want to dedicate plenty of time to Disney California Adventure Park to explore all it has to offer for Halloween Time.

1. Explore Radiator Screams

Cars Land in Disney California Adventure is all decked out for the scary season. Radiator Springs has become Radiator Screams and is a sight you don't want to miss. From traffic cone jack-o-lanterns to spidery touches, the town is ready for Halloween. With so many frightfully fun changes, you could spend your entire day exploring here.

We particularly love the Halloween musical overlays to Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters as “Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween” and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree as “Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree.”

2. Ride Monsters After Dark

Just outside Cars Land in Avengers Campus, you can’t forget to ride Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark. The ride overlay is unique as it only occurs at night, while the normal ride sequence takes place during the day. Lightning Lane selections begin to be distributed for the after dark version at 3:00 pm each day. You'll want to grab them quickly as they usually run out within the first 20 minutes

3. Try Ghoulishly Delightful Halloween Time Treats

You can find a variety of Halloween Time treats throughout Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

If you're looking for something sweet, look for seasonal Halloween Time churros and spooky macarons, candy apples and more. You'll also find savory and filling Halloween food throughout the resort at all your favorite dining locations. Taste testing all the delicious seasonal treats is one of our favorite ways to spend an evening if you don't have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets.

4. Meet Characters in their Halloween Costumes

At both parks you'll be able to find characters dressed up for Halloween Time, along with a PhotoPass photographer nearby to snap your photos.

While in Radiator Screams, you'll be treated to Mater, Lightning McQueen, Red the Fire Truck and more dressed in their frightful best. On Buena Vista Street, you can find Goofy, Minnie, Mickey and Daisy in ghoulish garb. Make sure to have your camera ready for a spooky spotlight!

5. Mickey’s Trick and Treat Party

Anyone with a valid Disneyland ticket this Halloween season can see Mickey’s Trick and Treat Party. This show is perfect for little ones and shows multiple times daily at California Adventure.

6. World of Color

During Halloween Time, World of Color only shows on non-party nights. This is something you're going to want to see during your Disneyland vacation at some point! We recommend scheduling time to see World of Color night when you have a full day in Disney California Adventure Park, or hopping over one evening from Disneyland. If you don't do a World of Color dining package, you'll still need to secure a spot in the Virtual Queue for the night's show.

Disneyland Halloween Highlights: No Oogie Boogie Ticket Required

To give you just an idea of how much there is to do during Halloween Time, let's continue our list over at Disneyland Park of things to do all without going to Oogie Boogie Bash.

7. Ride Halloween Attractions

We already mentioned Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween and Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree which are fun for the whole family and perfect to add to your to-do list.

But one huge and iconic highlight of Halloween Time is Haunted Mansion Holiday which runs from September through early January. Don’t miss it, now available via Virtual Queue.

8. Be Dazzled by Paint the Night Parade

Currently running through the very beginning of Halloween Time, see more details here. Having your own party in Disneyland is the perfect opportunity to watch Paint the Night Parade. With exciting floats, music, and character interaction, it will be sure to take your breath away. You'll want to line up early or book a dining package that includes seating to make sure you get the best view.

9. Dine with Halloween Characters

This option is perfect if you don't have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets and still want a Halloween treat!

Choose from:

  • Mickey’s Autumn Adventures inside Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian (breakfast and brunch)
  • Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner inside Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian
  • Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween at Disneyland Hotel has fun-filled dining throughout the day

Best of all, no theme park admission is required for the character dining listed above. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are highly recommended.

10. Wander through Downtown Disney

Another option for those who don't want to spend a Halloween Party evening in the theme parks is Downtown Disney. The district is still part of the Disneyland Resort, so you won't feel like you've left the magic. Shopping, entertainment and dining are all offered throughout Downtown Disney, including a giant World of Disney store.

You can also join in on Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit and earn a prize at the end. You won't have a hard time spending a few hours wandering through the magic here!

11. Watch Halloween Screams

Halloween Screams is a wicked display and treat for everyone! It runs nightly with an eerie greeting from your “Master of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog Zero. As Jack and Zero fade into the night leaving you to enjoy what’s to come, settle in and embrace the jump-worthy collision of sights and sounds—soaring flames, projections of rising ghosts and classic Disney villains like Maleficent and Ursula the Sea Witch—all set to a medley of Halloween-inspired songs.

Plus, on select nights, you’ll also be able to watch sparkling fireworks possess the sky.

12. Nighttime Halloween Swims

Lastly, you can always spend an evening at your hotel if you don't have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets. Your family will probably even enjoy the chance to take a break and rest their feet while they splash around.
