Disneyland Magic Morning: Your Complete Guide

Disneyland Magic Morning: Your Complete Guide tells you everything you need to know from what attractions are open, what days it's available and how early you need to be to get the most out of your time at Disneyland Magic Morning.

There's something completely magical about Disneyland Magic Morning. There's nothing quite like the feeling of having Disneyland to yourself, and the best way to do it is to be the first ones in the park. Your best bet to do that is with the Disneyland Magic Morning, so let's get into exactly what that is. Disneyland Magic Morning is a special event that allows you to get into select areas of Disneyland park an hour before it opens to the general public. So now onto our Disneyland Magic Morning: Your Complete Guide:

Disneyland Magic Morning Days and Times

Disneyland Magic Morning is currently available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Select areas of Disneyland (details on that later) open one hour before the entire park opens to the general public. This means that the hour will vary depending on when the park opens. Generally, the earlier the park opens and the earlier your Disneyland Magic Morning is, the fewer crowds you'll have. If you truly want to be among the first in line, try getting there an hour before the gates open for both regular hours and Disneyland Magic Morning.

Keep in mind that things are always subject to change at Disneyland. Because of that, we always recommend that you check the official Disneyland calendar before your visit to verify that all dates are correct during your stay. Park calendars are normally updated 30 - 45 days in advance.

Disneyland Magic Morning: How to get it
One Disneyland Magic Morning comes automatically with all of our 3-day and longer Park Hopper and 1-Park per Day tickets. Disneyland Magic Morning is NOT available to anyone who purchases a shorter length ticket or anyone who buys their tickets at the park... but who would want to pay full price and get less by getting them at the park anyway? ;)

In addition to anyone to purchases a 3-day or longer ticket in advance, guests who stay at any of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disney's Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa) get Disneyland Magic Morning each day it's offered during their stay, as long as they have a valid park ticket. This is such a perk, because if you have a 3-day ticket and two of your days fall on a Disneyland Magic Morning day, you'll get two Disneyland Magic Mornings! Plus, Disneyland Resort Hotel guests also get an additional benefit of the Extra Magic Morning at Disney California Adventure Park on non-Disneyland Magic Morning days - but more on that later. Guests must have a valid park ticket for any length of stay and a valid room key to receive Disneyland Magic Morning.

Disneyland Magic Morning Open Attractions
Now that you know what, when and where, here comes the fun part... the attractions! Assuming all attractions are scheduled to be open during your vacation, here are the lands and attractions that are included as part of your Disneyland Magic Morning:
Alice in Wonderland
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
King Arthur Carrousel
Mad Tea Party
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Peter Pan's Flight
Pinocchio's Daring Journey
Snow White's Scary Adventures
Astro Orbitor
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Disneyland Monorail
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Space Mountain (Hyperspace Mountain/Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy)
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

Disneyland Magic Morning and Fastpass Tickets
One thing that is so amazing about Disneyland Magic Morning is that so many of the included attractions don't offer a Fastpass option. This is a great way to get a head start on the rides that normally would have a longer wait. Also, speaking of the Fastpass option, it is not functional during Disneyland Magic Morning. You most likely won't need a Fastpass because lines aren't that long, but it also means that you won't be able to start accruing your Fastpass tickets until the park opens.
Disneyland Magic Morning vs. Extra Magic Hour
Now, don't get Disneyland Magic Morning confused with the Extra Magic Hour at Disney California Adventure Park. This is an exclusive perk only available to guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. If you REALLY want to feel like a VIP, you'll want to stay at either Disney's Paradise Pier, the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, because in addition to multiple Disneyland Magic Morning days, it's the only way to get into Disney California Adventure Park before it opens.
Much like Disneyland Magic Morning, Extra Magic Hour begins one hour before the park opens and only select areas of the park are available. Like at Disneyland, the earlier the Extra Magic Hour begins, the fewer crowds. Since Disneyland Resort hotel guests who also happen to be early risers are the only ones in the park, it is the best way to get a head start on your day. Rides that normally have at least a 30 minute wait can pretty much be walked on. It's incredible!

Extra Magic Hour days are currently scheduled on any day that does not have a Disneyland Magic Morning. That means right now it's Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. That means Disney hotel guests get an early entry into either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park every day of their stay!
Also, it's important to note that the no Fastpass rule applies to the Extra Magic Hour at Disney California Adventure Park. You won't need it during the Extra Magic Hour, but you'll want to pay attention to when the park opens. As soon as the park officially opens, you'll want to grab the hottest Fastpass tickets; Frozen - Live at the Hyperion (this is a show, so you can get one for this AND have one for an attraction at the same time), Soarin' Around the World, Radiator Springs Racers, and/or Tower of Terror (only until January 2017).

Extra Magic Hour Attractions at Disney California Adventure Park
Disney California Adventure Park has almost all of their most popular attractions available during Extra Magic Hour. Here they are:
Paradise Pier
California Screamin'
King Triton's Carousel
The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure
Toy Story Midway Mania!
Cars Land
Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
Radiator Springs Racers
Grizzly Peak Airfield
Soarin' Around the World

Again, remember that Disneyland Magic Morning and Disney California Adventure Park Extra Magic Hour attractions and dates are always subject to change. Everything is current at the time of posting, but be sure to check the schedule for your trip!
When you're ready to plan your Disneyland vacation, let us know! We'll help you get the best deals and make sure you get Disneyland Magic Morning - just make sure you get at least a 3-day ticket! Better yet, we'd love to help you also get the Extra Magic Hour by booking your stay at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. DH- Magic Mornings are typically available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Be sure to check the Disneyland app to verify Magic Morning days during your stay.

Hello I purchased a 3 day pass and did not get to use my magic morning yet. Our last day we will be going on a Sunday (It is the only day we can go, will there be any way to use it?

Magic Morning is available on select days at Disneyland; download the official Disneyland App to ensure which mornings are Magic Mornings based on Disneyland's schedule. Typically, Magic Mornings are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. If you purchased a 3-day or longer Disneyland ticket with Get Away Today, one Magic Morning is included. So you would choose one of the three days it's available and enjoy Magic Morning by showing up (we recommend an hour before gates open for Magic Morning) with your tickets on the day you've ensured is eligible for Magic Morning. Your Magic Morning would then be redeemed for the one day it's available when your Disneyland ticket is scanned for park entry.

If you're staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you can enjoy Magic Morning on all the days it is offered using your room key at the Disneyland gate.

Hello, when do I schedule what Magic morning I want once I'm there?
