It's the most spooktacular time for a Disneyland vacation... Disneyland Halloween Time 2016 will kick off with a scream on September 9 and will continue to fright and delight guests through Halloween night! Admission to Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is included with your regular theme park admission.

This year will bring back Disneyland Halloween Time favorites like Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy, and many other seasonal surprises. Jack Skellington and his crew from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas completely take over the Haunted Mansion and phantom ghosts chase you through the already  thrilling Space Mountain. You'll also be able to wander through the Pumpkin Festival on Main Street U.S.A. where you'll see hundreds of hand carved themed pumpkins. No two are alike! Be sure to check out the Dia de los Muertos skeleton display in Frontierland, have your camera handy for photos with the characters in their Halloween costumes, and save room for some pumpkin flavored Mickey beignets and other Halloween sweets. We can't wait to find out what more is in store!

In addition to Disneyland Halloween Time 2016 dates, Mickey’s Halloween Party 2016 dates were also announced. Mickey's Halloween Party will be held on 17 nights throughout September and October. Mickey's Halloween Party requires a separate ticket and includes access to many of the Disneyland attractions, trick-or-treating, the exclusive "Halloween Screams" fireworks, and more. This year the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow from Disney's "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" will made a special appearance. He'll be riding through Disneyland each night during Mickey's Halloween Party! It is sure to be a spooky sight.

We have put together a handy calendar to help see what days you can enjoy these frightful festivities and plan your trip: (Mickey's Halloween Party 2016 dates are in orange)

Another highlight of Mickey's Halloween Party, is that guests can come in costume! The costumes are subject to guidelines, including no full length costumes, no weapons (or toys that could be mistaken for a real weapon), no sharp objects and all costumes must be family friendly. If your kids are ages 13 and younger, costumes and masks are allowed, as long as the eyes are visable and your child's entire face is not covered. If you are 14 years of age or older, Disney recommends that you wear themed t-shirts, blouses and sweatshirts with acceptable accessories. Get creative with your costumes, follow the rules and you are in for a ghoulish good time. And PS - check out our article on how to make your costumes glow in the dark!

On Mickey's Halloween Party nights, Disneyland will close early and if you don't have a separate Mickey's Halloween Party ticket, you'll have to leave the park. If you have a Park Hopper Ticket, you can easily hop on over to Disney California Adventure Park where you can watch World of Color, take a spin on Radiator Springs Racers, or enjoy a leisurely dinner at the Carthay Circle Restaurant. If you have a 1-Park per Day Disneyland ticket, you'll definitely want to check the calendar when planning your vacation and try to spend any Mickey's Halloween Party dates in Disney California Adventure Park to maximize your time at the parks. Keep in mind that schedules can change, so be sure to follow the most up-to-date calendar on Disney's website. The calendar is normally updated approximately 45 days in advance and regularly reflects updates.

Tickets for Mickey's Halloween Party 2016 will go on sale to the public on July 28, 2016. Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders, Disney Rewards Visa card holders and Disney Vacation Club members will get access to the pre-sale for Mickey's Halloween Party Tickets on July 21, 2016. Hi Stephanie! The Halloween dates have been very similar the last two years, although it is always possible they can change. We think it's a safe bet to plan your 2017 Halloween vacation with plans of the Halloween time starting soon after Labor Day and lasting until October 31st. We hope that helps!

Are the Halloween dates pretty similar every year? Trying to plan for 2017. Thx

Hi Ter, By the second week in November all of the Halloween decorations will be down. An official date for the Christmas decorations hasn't been announced, but chances are they will be putting them up during that time. You'll probably see more and more decorations being added during your stay. The Haunted Mansion Holiday will be available during that time too!

We will be going the second week of November...Will there still be Halloween decorations up? Will Christmas decorations be up? Or will it be normal?

Hi Miranda, An official date hasn't been announced, but it was announced as January 2017 - so you should be good to go in November. Have a great trip - that's an awesome time to be in the parks!

When is the official closing day for Hilywood tower of terror? We have a 3 day park hopper at the beginning of November. Just curious if we'd make it or if it would be closed by then?

Hi Anonymous, Disneyland won't have the official park hours listed until probably 30-45 days prior to your travel dates, BUT we do know that the only party date during your trip is October 10 and that the party starts at 6pm that night. With that, we would guess the park will close to non-party guests at 5 or 6pm. Each year the party is a little bit different, but the entire park normally stays open. We hope that helps!

Do you know how early they are closing? We have a package booked for Oct 8-11th. Paying $300 more on top of our park hopper tickets for a party doesn't seem worth it. I know you said we could go to Disney California, but I can imagine it would be super crowded. Is the entire park open during the party, or is the party limited to only certain areas of disneyland?

Hi Christina, Tickets for Mickey's Halloween Party go on sale to the public on July 28 directly through Disney. Keep in mind that if you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can hop on over to Disney California Adventure Park on that night as well. :)

Hi Anonymous, The villains are normally found throughout Disneyland during Halloween Time, but aren't ever guaranteed. They are almost always at the Halloween Party.

Will be coming down to Disneyland October 30th through the 4th of November but didn't know that would be kicked out of the park early how can we add the party tickets tour package for a good deal for Halloween

Are the Disney villains avalable around the park to see during this time?
