Day 3: Anaheim Area Hotels, Knott's Berry Farm and Lots of Giveaways

By Jordan Ulibarri 11/04/2015

We are having such a blast in Orange County. The parks and hotels have been amazing and confirmed what we already knew... our partners are the best! Our third day of our annual FAM Trip was no different.  We began our morning by getting picked up from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel by Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) shuttles for our Anaheim hotel site inspections.

Our first stop was the Clarion Hotel where we were treated to the best breakfast. But Get Away Today employees aren't the only ones who get free breakfast at the Clarion. All Get Away Today guests get an exclusive free breakfast daily, and free parking, which is an additional $14 per day savings. Those are just two of the reasons why this value hotel is such a hit for families looking for a deal. While at Clarion, we got to see their guestrooms which are in the process of being updated. We will keep you up to date on the renovations!

Next we headed over to the Sheraton Park Hotel, located just around the corner. This hotel is a favorite of families for its comfortable rooms, great location, and awesome swimming pool.

After touring the Sheraton Park Hotel, we stopped by to check out the Portofino Inn & Suites, another popular choice for families. One thing that sets this hotel apart from others nearby is their kids suites. Their set up is perfect with a king bed in one bedroom and a set of bunk beds and a sofa bed in another room separated by French doors. Their kid suites sleep up to six, but the hotel also has very comfortable standard rooms fit for couples or smaller families. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Disneyland, but it also has an ART shuttle stop out front.

We're so sure that you'll love the Portofino Inn & Suites that we're giving away a 2-night stay there. Be sure to enter here:

Next, we headed over to the new Springhill Suites Convention Center to celebrate their first anniversary! The reasons to love this hotel are endless. Their rooms are spacious, they have kid suites with bunk beds that sleep up to seven guests, they serve a hot breakfast daily, each room has a microwave and mini-fridge, their rooftop pool has a view of the fireworks, their lobby is conveniently attached to a CVS pharmacy... what else could you want?

One lucky family will get to spend two nights free here as well. Enter below:

We then visited the Cortona Inn & Suites. We love this hotel because it has three different room types; deluxe rooms, executive suites, and kid suites, so there's something for everyone. We also love the free hot breakfast served daily, and the fact that each room comes with a microwave and refrigerator. When we throw in the 4th night free on select dates, the value can't be beat!

Next we headed next door to the new Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort. Since it opened late last year, it has been a huge hit with families. Their rooms are so spacious, and they have awesome kid suites with bunk beds. Their breakfast area is the largest of any Hyatt Places, and their breakfast is great!

We then toured the Courtyard Convention Center, a great family hotel located a half mile from the Disneyland Resort. Their rooms are spacious and each come with a refrigerator for ultimate convenience.

Our next stop was the Staybridge Inn & Suites, one of the most popular choices for large families. This all suite hotel has studio suites, one bedroom suites, and even two bedroom suites that sleep up to eight. We LOVED their new kitchens and wish our kitchens at home were that cool. Their new breakfast area is fantastic and serves up a free hot breakfast daily. They also serve a light snack Tuesday - Thursday nights as part of their manager's reception hour. The Staybridge shares one of the largest pools in the area with the next door Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort.

The Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort is undergoing a major renovation and our team is so excited about it. We could not believe the renovations. There rooms were so slick it didn't even look like the same hotel! We were treated to the most delicious lunch at Burger Theory. This place is legit and you'll find locals making their way to the Holiday Inn just for dinner.

We were all thrilled to be among the first to see the newest hotel in Anaheim, the Homewood Suites Convention Center. This gorgeous new hotel has everything that we love about Homewood Suites; large guest rooms with a separate living room area and fully stocked kitchen, free hot breakfast each morning, and a free light dinner Monday - Thursday nights. The Homewood Suites Convention Center has a pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, basketball court and putting green just steps from the lobby. This property is immaculate and we can not wait to send our guest there! It will be opening very, very soon.

Our final Anaheim hotel was the Springhill Suites Maingate. This is without doubt one of our most popular hotels. The hotel has only been open about a year, so everything is just so fresh. Their breakfast is awesome and free each morning. One of the best things about the Springhill Suites Maingate is their staff. They take exceptional care of our guests, and have even been known to surprise guests for special celebrations. They really are the best.

Our next stop on the itinerary was Knott’s Berry Farm, America's First Theme Park. We love this place! We have a pretty daring staff, so we got to ride some of Knott's most intense rollercoasters like Xcelerator and Silver Bullet. One of the highlights was getting to ride Knott's newest attraction, Voyage to the Iron Reef, a 4D attraction that is super fun and super interactive.

Of course we also love the famous Log Ride, signature food, adorable shops and so much more! There is something for everyone at Knott's Berry Farm, especially for the little ones. With the addition of Camp Snoopy, your kids can have thrills of their own in this adorable themed land. Read all about the New and Improved Camp Snoopy in this article.

We then headed over to Spurs Restaurant for an evening reception and dinner at Knott’s Berry Farm. We were able to meet and mingle with so many of our hotel and attraction contacts we work with everyday. We truly work with the greatest people who love what they do and make the best for Get Away Today guests.

After another fun-filled day, we returned for our final night at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. We slept soundly and prepared ourselves for another packed day. But, you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear all about it.

Remember, this week only, you'll get an extra $20 off any 2-night or longer Southern California vacation package when you book online using promo code: FAM2015. We hope this trip helps you decide where to stay on your next Disneyland vacation!
