Day 7: San Diego, Mission Bay and SeaWorld

By Jordan Ulibarri 11/09/2015

If you have been following along, you know that our team had the best week in Southern California beginning at Universal Studios Hollywood, then onto the Disneyland Resort before heading down to San Diego. We've been sharing our impressions and feedback from our attractions and hotel partners here and on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. But most exciting of all, we've been giving away prizes like hotel stays, attraction tickets and merchandise. Now that we're back in the office, we wanted to share our last day of the FAM Trip and a few last giveaways.

Our final day in San Diego was a great one. We started with breakfast at the Bahia Resort Hotel. There are so many reasons we love the Bahia. First, we were greeted by their resident seals, then we walked through their property and saw their guest rooms, Mediterranean themed pool, and the beach.

The Catamaran Resort Hotel is the sister hotel to the Bahia and is located right across the bay. Since it's on the other side, the hotel is also across the street from Mission Beach. During the summer they have luaus on the beach that will make you feel like you've been transported to Hawaii. Their rooms are clean and comfortable, their tropical pool is just the place to escape to, and their grounds are meticulously maintained. It is an ideal location for anyone looking for the perfect San Diego beach vacation.

After a delightful morning, we got to spend the bulk of the day at SeaWorld San Diego. We are so impressed with how much they do for animals out in the wild, and in their care. We had the best time learning about killer whales, dolphins, turtles, and all of the creatures of the sea. The highlight of our day was getting the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see firsthand all of the good that SeaWorld does, and then meet Kristi, the head killer whale trainer at SeaWorld. She talked to us all about the care and enrichments that the 11 whales at SeaWorld receive. It was pretty fun when Amaya, SeaWorld's youngest whale, jumped up and photo bombed our group shot. We decided it was the best photo bomb ever.

Our team spent the rest of the day playing and exploring SeaWorld San Diego. In addition to incredible shows and interactive exhibits, SeaWorld San Diego has some awesome rides. Manta, Journey to Atlantis and Shipwreck Rapids are all so much fun. SeaWorld also hosts a number of seasonal events in addition to their regularly available attractions. We just missed their Halloween Spooktacular and they were already prepping for Christmas Celebration which will officially begin on November 21 and continue through January 3. There is nowhere in the world quite like SeaWorld and we encourage everyone to visit SeaWorld Cares to learn more about their conservation, rescue and education efforts.

Enter to win one of two family 4-packs of SeaWorld San Diego tickets, one must be used by the end of this year, and one is good through 2016, so be sure to enter the one that works for your travel dates:

Our trip ended the best way possible at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa. This sprawling resort is located on Mission Bay and since it's built on its own peninsula, it feels like your own private island paradise. There are multiple swimming pools, a putting green, fire pits, an incredible spa, a marina, and of course, plenty of beach. The newly renovated rooms are all situated in bungalows throughout the property and are awesome. We were then treated to dinner at Tidal overlooking the bay. We couldn't imagine a better way to end a perfect week in Southern California. In fact, the only way that would make it better would be to give away a 2-night stay so that one lucky winner can experience it firsthand.
