Overview of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort

After years of anticipation, the day we’ve been waiting for finally came! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opened on May 31, 2019 and we had the pleasure of experiencing this brand-new land on opening day. In today’s video, we give a brief overview of what you can experience while visiting Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park. However, we’ll be posting even more Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge overview content this week to help answer any questions and help make your first visit to Black Spire Outpost a successful one. So, grab your blue milk, lightsabers and let’s punch it to hyperspace!

We hope you enjoyed our brief Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge overview of everything you can experience on Batuu. In case you missed anything, we’ve recapped the most important points of our visit below:

Overview of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Explore Batuu

Once you walk into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you are immediately transported into the world of Star Wars – and more specifically, Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. Here, you find yourself on the edge of the galaxy discovering a brand-new planet, that has never been seen before in the Star Wars universe. But let us tell you, while Batuu is new to us, it has a long history. What once was a former trading post filled with aliens, creatures and legends, Batuu is now home to misfits and smugglers trying to find their place in the galaxy. This deserted planet has once again gained the interest of The Resistance and in turn, The First Order. What could they be after? You’ll have to find out for yourself.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Overview First Order vs. The Resistance

Speaking of these two opposing forces, The First Order and the Resistance have set up camp on opposite ends of Black Spire Outpost. At each location, you can join their ranks, discover secrets, purchase uniforms and fight for your side. These two totally distinct areas each have key information to unlock and discover through the Play Disney Parks App, which we’ll discuss more in a future video and blog post. But for now, download and use the Play Disney Parks App when visiting Batuu. This app brings a new level of immersion for you to experience at the Disneyland Resort.

This is the moment where it really hits you. You are actually living your own Star Wars story. The iconic ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs is sitting right before your eyes. More than that, you can actually fly it!  Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a brand new, engaging attraction where you and five friends are tasked with a smuggle mission aboard the Millennium Falcon. You each have a role - pilot, gunner or engineer and must work together to complete your journey. Yes - what you do and how you perform in your roles actually has an effect on your experience, both during and after your ride. We could go on and on about this attraction, but here is what we want to leave you with - it is genuinely fun. We couldn’t stop smiling and we are still talking about our unique experience. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is one of two new attractions at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The second, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open later in 2019, stay tuned as we learn more information.

With unique kyber crystals, holocrons and a customized build experience, you are truly in for a treat. Along the same lines, you can build your own personal astro-mech droid at the Droid Depot.
