There is nothing quite like a Disney vacation, and how you announce it to your family can be half of the fun! One of our favorite ways is with a Disney vacation puzzle surprise. It doesn't have to be a huge puzzle. In fact, we recommend using a super simple one that even your youngest kids can help put together. To make it as easy as possible, we've created two free Disney vacation puzzle surprise printables; one for Disneyland and one for Walt Disney World.

Here's all you need to make your own Disney vacation puzzle surprise for your family:

  • Two pieces of regular printer paper
  • One sheet of sticky foam paper (8 1/2" x 11")
  • Scissors
  • A ballpoint pen

Making your own puzzle is super easy and only take a few minutes. First, you'll want to print the puzzle design for your destination:

Next, you'll print your puzzle template below. The template is the same for either destination.

Once you have both your front and back to your Disney vacation puzzle surprise printed, you'll grab your foam paper. Peel the back off of your foam paper and carefully place your Disneyland or Disney World announcement on the front.

Once the puzzle design is firmly placed on your foam paper, turn it over. Place the puzzle template over the foam. Use a ballpoint pen to trace the puzzle onto the foam. It will leave an indent. Once your foam is indented, you can trace over the lines with your ballpoint pen so you can see the puzzle piece outlines more easily.

Now comes the fun part. Wrap your puzzle pieces up for your family to open on Christmas morning and let your kids put the pieces together for a thrilling surprise! You could of course use the puzzle to announce an immediate Disney vacation, but you certainly don't have to.

If you're traveling in the future, you could even use the back to write your travel dates or more vacation information. You could even throw in a countdown chain or some small vacation themed items to help keep your family excited about your upcoming trip. It's a great way to extend the magic of Christmas morning all the way through your travel dates. No matter when you decide to travel, be sure to have your camera ready to capture some priceless reactions when your vacation announcement is made.
