The Wizarding World of Harry Potter officially opens on the west coast NEXT WEEK at Universal Studios Hollywood and we are so excited we can hardly stand it! We were able to go to a special sneak preview of the land and one of the hottest items flying off shelves are the magic wands from Ollivanders. Ollivanders carries beautifully crafted wands that are exact replicas of all of your favorite, and not-so-favorite characters from the series including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Bellatrix, Voldemort, Snape, and so many more. These wands run about $40 each, and make beautiful keepsakes of your time spent in Hogsmeade and Hogwarts at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You'll see many wizards and witches wandering around with their wands at ready!

If you don't have enough Galleons saved in your account at Gringotts, you can make your own wand for less than $1 each with craft supplies you may already have around your house! Our version may not include unicorn hair or a phoenix feather, but we still think the transformation is pretty magical.

Here's a list of all you need to make your own wand for less than $1, and links to purchase the supplies if you don't already have them:

Paints (browns and natural colors work best)

You can read our detailed instructions on how to make your own wand in our article: The Easiest Realistic Harry Potter Wands, but we wanted to show you just how easy it is. Enjoy the video:
