Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears
Have you been dreaming about your wedding day since you were a little girl? It is your special day to be a real princess! Sleeping Beauty would say that a dream is a wish your heart makes when you are fast asleep. Disney weddings are the things dreams are made of no matter if you are asleep or wide awake. How magical is it to celebrate the happiest day of your life at the happiest place on Earth!? So, so magical.
If you plan to spend a part of your wedding celebrations at the Disney Parks, then you are going to want to do it in style. These Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears are the perfect bridal accessory for a festive bachelorette party or magical Disney honeymoon vacation. They will help you look and feel like a special bride. Plus, your pictures will be adorable.
You can make your own Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears with this simple tutorial. They are seriously so easy to make even if you are not normally a do it yourself kinda gal. You just need a few supplies from the craft store and about 30 minutes.
Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Bridal Ears Supplies:
- Gold Floral Headband
- Gold Craft Wire
- Fake Flowers
- Hot Glue
- White Tulle
- Scissors
I got all the supplies for these rose gold Minnie Mouse ears at the craft store. There are so many fun things to see at the craft store. Sometimes, I walk down the isles and get totally excited about the cool things that could be created. It is dangerous. Almost as dangerous as a Disney churro.
The gold floral headband was from a department store. I just stumbled upon it and decided it was destined to be part of this post. You can find them online at Amazon or even at Claire's or places like Ross or JC Penny.
Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears - Getting Started
To start, make the gold Minnie ears out of the craft wire. I wrapped the wire around a lotion bottle. You just need to find something round that is about 4 inches in diameter. A mason jar or a jelly jar from the fridge will totally work.
Wrap the wire around the object and then twist the two ends of the wire to make the circle shape stay in place. Leave about a 3 inch tail of wire so you can attach it to the headband.
Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears - Assembling the Ears
Make two identical gold ears. Then, attach them the gold headband. My headband had three rows. I attached the ears to the middle row of the headband. Twist the gold tail around the headband. You may need to use some needle nose pliers to bend the end of the wire down.
You want the ears to be centered on the headband with about 3 inches of space between them. Then, plug in your hot glue gun and get it ready for action.
Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears - Making the Veil
Cut 8 strips of white tulle. They should be about a yard long each. The tulle is 6 inches wide off of the roll.
String a piece of tulle through the back of the headband and pull it so the center of the tulle is on the headband and the two ends meet together. Tie a knot. You should have two long strips of tulle flowing off of the headband. Repeat the process moving along the headband between the two rose gold Minnie ears.
It will look like this when you are finished adding all of the tulle strips. You can decide how many you want to add. If you like a big fluffy veil, then add more!
Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears - Adding the Flowers
Next, pull the flowers off of the plastic stems. You will need about 6 flowers. I picked pink, because it is pretty and complements the rose gold headband and ears so well! You can use whatever style and color of flower that fits your personality or your outfit.
Put a little dab of hot glue on the short stem of the plastic flower. Then press it on the front of the headband. Start the first flower right next to one Minnie ear. Continue to add flowers as you move across the front of the headband. You will have to hold the flower in place for about 40 seconds to let the glue dry before adding the next one in the line.
Isn't it pretty?! I had some extra gold wire sitting on my craft table that was begging to be involved. So, I added an extra step. It's optional, though. Twist the thin gold wire around the rose gold Minnie Mouse ears circles. Start at the base of the ear and twirl it around the main wire until you reach the other side. Twist the decorative wire in place around the headband at the ends.
