A-Z More Tips for Walt Disney World Resort 2023

We hope your Walt Disney World vacation will be the best one yet. In addition to our top tip to book early, we’ve gathered a few other resources to help you plan and prep.

Dining Plans: At this time Disney dining plans are not available for 2023 packages. We will update this if any information comes out about Disney’s dining plans for 2023.

Disney Genie+ is your pass to skipping the wait! FastPass+ System has been retired and we now use the Disney Genie+ system, read all about it here.

Early Theme Park Entry perks for Guests of Walt Disney World hotels. Extra Magic Hours have been discontinued and replaced with a new program. This new program includes Early Theme Park Entry every day to each of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks:
  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • EPCOT
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Guests of Walt Disney World hotels will be able to enter their reserved Walt Disney World Resort theme park 30 minutes prior to the park’s opening to the general public.

Extended Evening Hours is for guests of Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts on select nights. Guests must have theme park reservations or a Park Hopper ticket to attend.

MagicBand+ replaced the MagicBand that formerly came with Walt Disney World packages. Now you can customize and purchase your MagicBand+ any time before or during your vacation.

MagicBands are typically synced to the My Disney Experience app. This allows you to remain hands-free and less tied to your cell phone during your trip.

When you connect the My Disney Experience app to your MagicBand+ you will have access to:

  • Theme park tickets, simply tap in at the gate
  • Theme park reservations, linked to your ticket
  • Lightning Lane and virtual queue entrances
  • Restaurant reservations
  • Disney Resort hotel room, tap to unlock your room
  • Payment information, just tap to pay

In 2023, guests can still use older MagicBand models and their smartphones to utilize some of the features of MagicBand+.

Guests staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel have access to discounted MagicBands once their vacation package is linked to their My Disney Experience account.

In addition, Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests receive a complimentary Key to the World card at the front desk to use as their theme park tickets, room key, and form of payment. Guests not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will have to use physical tickets (no additional charge) or purchase a MagicBand+ to use as their tickets.

Memory Maker is one of our top recommendations! Add Memory Maker to your vacation package and receive unlimited downloads of all PhotoPass photos taken during your vacation. PhotoPass photographers are located throughout the parks in some of the most beautiful and iconic photo spots. It’s a great way to get everyone in your family in the picture. You can add Memory Maker when you book your package for just $169 for 2023. If you wait to add it, you can do so, but the price goes up to $199 if you wait until three days before your vacation begins.

Park Hopping at Walt Disney World looks a little different in 2023. If you haven’t been back in a while, it’s important to know that all guests with a park hopper ticket can begin park hopping at 2:00 p.m. Park hopping tickets are still an excellent value, allowing you to visit more than one of the four theme parks on any given day.

There’s no need (or even an option to make a reservation for your second theme park. In the rare case that a Theme Park reaches capacity in the afternoon, you will get a push notification on the My Disney Experience app to let you know that Park Hopping has closed at a specific theme park. In that case, you can stay in the Park you started or choose another available Theme Park.

Water Parks at Walt Disney World continue to delight visitors throughout the year. Walt Disney World Resort has two water parks on property:
  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach (Currently Unavailable)
  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

These beloved water parks also can be added to your Walt Disney World vacation with the Water Park and More tickets. Theme park reservations are not required at this time for Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

Walt Disney World Resort offers occur throughout the year, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. We'll of course keep you updated with any deals that come up. Get Away Today's Walt Disney World Concierge Service

When you book your 2023 Walt Disney World vacation package with Get Away Today, you'll also receive our complimentary concierge service. Our complimentary concierge service includes the following services all included at no cost to you. In fact, our services will help you save both time and money:

  • Detailed Planning Assistance - We can help you as much or as little as you wish! Many of our guests use our services to help make their theme park reservations and dining reservations. If you would like to make your own dining reservations, our concierge team will simply send you a reminder when your reservations will become available.
  • We can also watch for hard-to-get restaurant reservations and book them for you should they become available.
  • Complimentary Price Monitoring - This is probably the most popular of our services. If Disney releases a new special or discount that can be applied to your reservation after you book, we will do so automatically! Sometimes a guest will book one special, and then a different special will come out. You don’t have to wonder which one is better, because we automatically compare them. Sometimes the original booking rate is better, so we leave it as is. Sometimes the new special is better, so we make that change. Either way, we are in it for YOU. We love sending our guests notifications that they’ve just saved even more on their vacations.

It is a wonderful post. This is really great post having useful information. It is a wonderful post.

Thanks for the post very nice article.

For a November 2021 package, as long as you cancel 30 days before your vacation, anything you've paid towards your package would be fully refundable. If you cancel within that time window, portions of the package become non-refundable depending on how close to your check-in date you need to cancel.

If a 2021 package is booked for November , but ended up needing to be canceled.. what is the process there? Are refunds available or would it be a credit?

Hi Kerry, Yes - you can contact Disney and have your reservation transferred to us. Our team can help with this process at 855-GET-AWAY

I think I made a rookie mistake. I booked through the Disney website. I'm being told by friends that I could have saved money through you. My reservation is for park passes and resort only for December 2021. Can I change it too you?
